the way SpaghettII gags EVERYONE!

Oooh, as soon as she sang that line in American Requiem "..whole lotta talkin going on.... while I sing my song.." I was like, oh, she's coming for that CMA crowd. She was right back in that moment feeling disrespected. And then the "do you hear me... or do you fear me?". I aspire to this level of pettiness.

So Act 1 was supposed to be Cowboy Carter. The end of Cowboy Carter transitions transition into Renaissance. B switched it last minute because she wanted people to dance and be happy after going through covid basically. Now the last act, Rock (I’m PRAYING she does post punk or goth rock) will be the best album we have ever seen. She will end it with the best work. As someone very dedicated for over a decade I can understand her work ethic because of her goals. She seems to aim her own sound. Her own genre. A legacy in music and of black liberation. Beyoncé, undoubtedly has a healthy ego. A competition within only herself and never projects anything but kindness and compassion with collaborators of music. She sees herself marking each genre like a tally on a chalkboard for her bucket list. As Beyoncé said… a legend. She is a legend but someone so adversed knowledgeable and skillful in any project she does regarding music not to mention her extreme knowledge of every aspect to seeding up a global show. She oversees every aspect down to the type of flooding used or the specific type of lights. But when it comes to her music… she will be making music forever because she loves it. She grows and grows and learns from mistakes and adapts. She will only get better. But rock music? I’m telling you she will devour every song, every note, every interlude, background vocals, but ESPECIALLY atmospheric vibes which tie to aesthetics/core and because an IMMEDIATE cult classic to not just mainstream but Alt girlys

the lore of this album runs so deep it’ll be studied in universities for years just like self-titled, lemonade and renaissance have been.

the concept of a drunken night listening to a radio station is SO well executed. she goes from lamenting about america’s horrid past, to reminiscing on her childhood, to struggling as a parent, to imagining her mother’s heartache and seeking revenge, to getting high and experiencing a bad trip, to falling in love and losing it then finding it again, imagining herself in a movie, coming down, picking herself up and leaving the bar.

all of this executed while also paying homage to americana/folk and country’s black roots, weaving together interpolations and samples from a whole host of other collaborators.

she really is a master of her craft AND a student of the past, always paying homage to those who came before her in order to push culture and art FORWARD.

34 years in this business and she ain’t slowing down yet. a LEGEND.
