This guy is the real life captain jack Sparrow. Captured the pearl (who cares what color) and survived being marooned.

Simon: “luckily we have a first hand account”
proceeds to read gibberish

My man either filmed this before his arm broke or his captors took his sling away until he filmed another video. You think he'd have escaped with a shiv fashioned from a dollar shave club razor.

Watching this as a Black Sail fan: "Ayy I know that guy...ayy and that guy!...and that guy! And that guy!" Anyway, this is your daily reminder to watch Black Sails, if you haven't. Every episode, even the slow ones, are worth the journey to the end.

Edward Tried to find a middle ground between compassion and terror but what he ultimately learned the hard way is there is no middle ground.

Would love a bio on Alexander Selkirk, the real-life inspiration behind Robinson Crusoe.

Ive heard about him because of Uncharted 4. Thanks Naughty Dog!

I am only one man with one heart...Call me a demon, call me a monster...but I can't be the strongest forever...

You should do a biopic on Master assassin and pirate captain Edward Kenway 😂😁

It took me quite awhile to figure out he was saying Nassau.

Edward?! England?!! - NAH BRUH - it's all about that Edward Newgate "THE ONE PIECE IS REAL!!!" This is actually pretty cool. I love when I find the people that Oda is referring to when he creates his characters.

The good hearted pirate who's demise was brought on by being to nice. He then had to live off of charity he received from other semi good hearted pirates.

Please do one about William of Orange.

I can’t imagine there being too many swashbucklers that had a compassionate side to them. Captain England must of had an incredible amount of people skills in order to maintain any kind of authority over his crew! Bet he had a very interesting personality to do what he did.

A hair loss commercial aired right before today’s segment began… I was offended on your behalf

Hope your having a wonderful beginning of the week, Simon. Keep it up and best wishes for the next family member on the way

My parents owned a condo in Fort Pierce, Florida about 100 yards north of where the 1715 Spanish Galleon "Urca de Lima" went down in about 15 feet of water right off the beach. I used to swim out to it and look at the ballast stones and cannon on the seafloor.

i thought Edward England was just a fictional character from Uncharted 4. Next thing Simon will tell us that Jack Sparrow actually existed. I love your series, especially your humour.
