About 40 years ago when I had a few introductory lessons in art, Alwyn's book was recommended by my teacher. Very helpful.

Alwyn will be remembered surely for his "open heart " approach to painting and practical use of the materials all the way through the painting process. His oil painting course book sits on my table in which there's always something to refer to. He'll be sadly missed.

I’m deeply saddened he was my all-time favorite artist, and I truly believe one of the
greatest landscape painters the UK has ever produced. I watched all his videos and had many lovely chats with him at his Dawlish gallery and at his workshops in Norwich back in the day. I will miss him dearly.

I am sorry to hear of Alwyn’s passing. I have those early programs of his on tape, which haven’t been seen for years. God rest his soul. Lovely man!

Alwyn seemed like the first to give his knowledge, in a down to earth and friendly manner....He had a lovely manner about him. ?...RIP Alwyn Crawshaw.

Sad to hear that. I remember him in that series on TV.

Alwyn was my introduction to watercolour painting, too. I recently bought his top tips book; he uses 7 colours in his palette. After moving away from his style after watching umpteen YouTube videos, it was refreshing to revisit his style and try and stick to the colours that he used. So glad that he gave me the inspiration to get into this hobby.

very sorry to hear about Alwyn, met him briefly at his exhibition in Dawlish, which was a Dartmoore painting weekend, which he very kindly signed my books .

I’ve never heard of him until Paul Clark did a tutorial of a painting from his book. I ordered 3 of his books from eBay and I’m watching any video I can find of him .

Lovely! Oliver Pyle posted about Alwyns sad passing. He obviously influenced many artists during his art lifetime. Thanks

Really sad that Alwyn is no longer with us - thanks for telling us though. Really glad I've found your channel. I used to be subscribed to your other one and have subscribed to this one as well.
