"Sir, it's an invasion force, three Legion's worth!" "Sound the alarm!" "Sir, we've just gotten word that the Slayer is about to be teleported here!" "SOUND THE OTHER ALARMS"
All these years I’ve thought The Slayer only cared about killing demons. If he saved anyone it was only circumstantial. But this scene shows he does care about others. As what frees him from the Maykers prison is the cries of the innocent that call to him and destroy those who would harm them.
Notice how they say "the slayer no longer WISHES to be detained" He doesn't care about them thinking they have control over him, as long as he gets to kill demons. The second they say they're NOT sending him to kill demons, he breaks out immediately. He was literally allowing them to "control" him as long as they made him do what he was already going to lmao.
"It would appear the Slayer no longer wishes to be detained" is a more calm version of the "Oh dear" that one Half-Life scientist said while the Lambda core sploded
Maykrs: we'll let you disembowel demons on the regular Slayer: i love this cell Maykrs: we have decided to remove your demon destroying privileges Slayer: I WANT OUT (breaks the wall in 3 punches).
What I love about Doom story is how a lot of moments are shpw don't tell. Or Show and Tell...largely because the DoomSlayer doesn't speak much so they HAVE to make sure we understand what's happening without to many words.
Poor Doomguy at 0:47 his PTSD from not saving his family, Daisy and everyone else kicking in and giving him the motivation to break free from the Maykrs mind control.
i like how it's specified that he "no longer WISHES to be detained. " he was letting the maykrs control him and the second they overstep, he breaks free lol
