Saving a Rusted Legend: Vintage Citizen 8200 Restoration (Black Plating)
Description:
In this restoration project, I take on the challenge of bringing a severely corroded vintage Citizen 8200 back to life. This watch was in rough shape, completely seized by years of neglect, but I saw the potential to turn it into something special.
Instead of a standard paint job, I decided to go for a custom black plating on the casing to give it that deep, sophisticated look. To finish it off and ensure it stays protected while having that high-shine pop, I applied a durable clear gloss lacquer.
Watch the full process, from the initial disassembly and deep cleaning to the final assembly of this restored timepiece.
