Rare and exclusive interview with Hettie Hurtes, I believe in 1988. I've slowed it to reflect River's voice at that time as compared to other interviews.

I hate the fact that River’s work is not readily available on streaming sites like Netflix or Tubi etc. His legacy is his philanthropy and his contribution to the arts. It isn’t just how River died. He was too good to just be forgotten. If you’re a fan of his work, please request these films to be added to these platforms.

we will never forget you, River Phoenix. So deep and soulful. May your good and beautiful soul rest in peace. You are truly missed.

For a young lad, he gave very diplomatic and thoughtfull answers in the face of some daft questions. It's a shame his mother and her clingons forced him to continue working in the business, even after he dragged them out of poverty. RIP

That part when he’s talking about drugs made me so emotional :(( his heart was pure gold despite everything, I love him so much :((

I always believed he never would have been an actor by choice. His parents made him do that so he could support the family. He would still be here if he hadn’t been forced into an industry which was so alien to his own values.

River Phoenix was an absolutely 💯 brilliant actor! I just can't believe what happened to him and how the Hollywood dream factory poisoned him. His death still hurts today. If only there had been more room on that stage at the Viper Room he and that alleged blue cup might never have crossed paths.
