When people say “many generations of… “ it seems presumptuous like a self proclaimed profit. In this case, I really really hope this boat and the documentary you’re building goes down in history as one of those turning points in human anthropology. Where not only the design is a result of mastery of fundamental principles (understanding wood, tension, carpentry) but also the utilization of tools available - cutting edge tools like the cnc, cad, jigs… I’m not sure it’s possible to convey to the layman just how far ahead in the planning and overall project mapping you must be & all you are in your head… It’s not a boat, it’s a process, it’s brilliant 🙀🤯

19:50 You could angle the boat a bit as you take it out rather than keeping it level. Depends on the overall height, but you shouldn't need to angle it much to get a few more centimeters.

Watching an archival film from the 1940s on how the 80’ Elco PTs were built, and realized they were basically using an early form of cold molding. Phenolic resins and mechanical fasteners holding multiple cross-layers of mahogany to oak frames. High strength to weight ratio.

Looking forward to watching your approach to bagging the more curvaceous areas of hull and getting an airtight seal.
