I stumbled across this video and assumed it had 100,000 views. I was shocked to see the view count so low. Good analysis, humor, and learning. Keep it up!

17:02 actually fun fact, Nintendo confirmed that the reason dueling peaks is split is because a dragon came down and split it in half, in one of the cutscenes in ToTK you can see dueling peaks as a singular mountain

I just checked a Reddit post about the area of Hyrule which estimated it at ~140,000 km^2 (56,000 mi^2).

Costa Rica (my country), area of 51,100 km^2, has mountain ranges, plains (north and east), tropical rain forest, dry forest (in the west, not exactly desert), active volcanoes.

So it’s not that far fetched. We’re only missing snowy mountains but that’s cuz we’re in the tropics. If we were further up north, our highest mountain (Cerro Chirripo) might’ve had snow on it.

This video gives me old Game Theory vibes and I love it. Also not to “erm actually”, but the Dueling Peaks was said in the lore to form due to a dragon quite literally SPLITTING IT IN HALF

This is great. The geography of the BotW map is why its my favourite. It really feels like an actual place, just scaled down. Hoping this video blows up.

The cool thing about Dueling Peaks, is that in game there is a legend that tells that the peaks used to be a single mountain, but a dragon cut it in half to make its way across

Is so cool because it fits with the fantasy elements of the game, and also you can see the geographical evidence that the peaks used to be a single mountain which makes the legend very reallistic with our real life legends

You should do a collab with Any Austin, this would be an incredible video. You two have studied this map incredibly well, it's so funny to me.

You forgot about the hot springs in Hebra, and hot springs are a byproduct of volcanic activity.

Fun fact: the Gerudo Desert’s rain shadow, actually comes from the mountains immediately west of Lake Hylia. The existence of the Taibab Grassland proves it. I might also mention that the areas immediately outside the Gerudo Desert show signs of desertification in Tears of the Kingdom, going by the expansion of such conditions into those areas, even right up to the western edge of the Taobab Grassland.

I assume a heavy AnyAustin influence here, but I really like this format and am happy to see more people exploring video games from a real world perspective.

The volcano bit had me cracking up. When two tectonic plates love each other... 😂

How the hell have only 25 people seen this? This is amazing!

4:40 hey, so both of them are 17 when the game takes place...

You are going to be one of those channels that suddenly blows up, this is really high quality, hope you go far

From where I live in the Willamette Valley in Oregon, USA, I'm an hour or so away from the ocean, a snow-capped mountain, and high desert (though that's different from what's depicted in Hyrule, it's still desert). Also in the area is a rain forest, a smaller mountain range, lots of farmland, a dormant volcano, and several large rivers.

So Hyrule feels perfectly natural to me. A little small for traversial time, but that's video games for you.

Also I third the "you have massive AnyAustin vibes" and wonder if you'd be ok with me showing him this video over on bsky.

When you start Tears of the Kingdom, Rito Village is cold and snowy. And although the snow in Rito Village does melt once you clear the Wind Temple, the snow in the surrounding area doesn’t melt, suggesting that there actually is an active cold front there, when Tears of the Kingdom takes place, that was amplified by the Upheaval.

im very glad i found this small content creator, this video was very well made considering you only have 400 subscribers. you deserve a lot more recognition and have definitely earned my subscription

3:53 Maybe it can’t say Hi back, but it can wave

10:23 I haven't seen any other comments mention this: there's a theory (partially supported by the game's material properties) that the hebra mountain isn't glacier ice but rather obsidian created by Vah Medoh's blast. Not to dispute what you've theorized, just a fun thing to share :)

i found you from your most recent video (how many steps does it take to save hyrule), and holy shit your videos are great. this one made me feel like i was back in my 4th grade science class in the best way possible. your scripts are incredibly well written and you present them in such an engaging manner. your videos are well edited and polished. im incredibly excited to see what else you make in the future!
