Boromir is the only member of the Fellowship who betrays Frodo. And he's also one of the characters we love the most.
In this analysis, we explore Boromir's complete arc in The Fellowship of the Ring, from a scene Jackson invented—the encounter with Aragorn before the shards of Narsil—to final words Tolkien never wrote. Along the way, we examine the trinity of Isildur, Boromir, and Aragorn, three men of Gondor before the same ring and three different choices, and why the fear Boromir and Aragorn share leads them to opposite ends of the spectrum.
