A true honest footballer ,and a gentleman

I once ask him why he left spurs just after his departure he said i never wanted to leave and you could see the sorrow in his voice.pat Jenning was in my opinion the best goalkeeper of his generation and a very humble gentleman.

Big Pat will always be my hero as a kid i was born in Tottenham. I watched him score against Man utd in the '67 charity shield match I watched it with it with my dad he was delighted by this goal & i realised that it was a bit special. Soon afterwards my dad was cruelly taken away from me so this memory has stayed with me.

When my wife and I were both students at Hatfield Polytechnic we lived for a short while at Bayfordbury and discovered this lovely pub deep in the heart of the Hertfordshire countryside , they had a sing song on the piano every Friday night and we'd see Pat Jennings in on occasion . Everyone loved and respected him . Wish I'd had the nerve to talk to him now , I've been West Ham all my life [ nearly 70 now ] but loved Pat , a real gentleman .

A much respected and loved player. I have yet to hear anyone say a word against him.

A global legend, along with Banks and Yashin.

One of the best goal keepers to ever put a pair of gloves on admired by the finest goalkeepers all over the world .

One  of the all time  greats.
I loved watching him at Arsenal ❤❤❤

Growing up in Northern Ireland big Pat was my football hero as a child and naturally I supported the English team he played for. I’m so glad that he was with Arsenal at the time and have been a Gooner for nearly 50 years otherwise I would be a spurs fan 😂. Met big Pat in person after a NI v Eng WC qualifier at Windsor Park and asked for his autograph he was so generous with his time and shook my hand. They say don’t meet your heroes but I’m glad I did!

Always loved Pat Jennings, a superb player and a lovely bloke and I'm West Ham United

Absolute Legend!

Hated the fact he wore that dreadful kit  but always loved that he come back to Tottenham

In 1973, aged 15, I was a ball boy at Wembley for a friendly match The 3 V The 6 (when England, N Ireland and Denmark joined the EEC. Pat Jennings was in goal for The 3.
In the second half I was behind his goal when the ball went out for a goal kick. I remember two things from that game.
1) he gave me a friendly smile as I handed him the ball.
2) he had hands the size of shovels!!
A great keeper and a great man.  COYSX!

I am English and a Leeds united supporter, but Pat Jennings was my hero, because of him I became a goal keeper {amatuer} and I think he was the best keeper I have ever seen and was a real gentleman

A great keeper

I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times whilst playing corporate golf.  He was unassuming, polite, and perhaps even a bit shy.  BUT to shake his hand made you realise they were enormous for a man of his size!

Big Pat was a superb goalkeeper. World class. Much better than the overrated Shilton and Clemence who were his contemporaries.

What a keeper. Tottenham's greatest ever. Met him once years ago in his adopted home town. What a gent too.

Mayby when Cruyff join Feyenoord when Ajax said he was to old .that was also a demonstration

The best goalkeeper ever play in the uk if not the world. Pat Jennings a true son and legend of Newry.
