OMG Where the hell did all of you come from??? XD

Thx to everyone for the support on this vid, it's been out 3 days tops and you lot already pushed me past 600 subs from 400...soon to be 700, can't thank you lot enough seriously <3

EDIT: IM AT 800 WTF 👁️👁️

EDIT 2: We got 1000...

You guys made the three month slog to get this finished, well worth it...

Couple of things:
1. Yes I know shivs exist...I didn't wanna suggest them as they are resource heavy when the MEC is the better option IMO...could be preferance
2. Yes I know Long War is harder...my proverbial hat goes out to you for playing through such torture :)
3. I do read everyones comments and I love seeing all of your personal experiences, please keep em coming
4. I'm not saying this mission is the hardest, it maybe for your first time as I stated a couple times in the video...but this isn't the hardest level amongst the reboots in total , I just love it for what it is :)
5. I did forget that the support boi can be a sprinter, that did slip my memory cause I never used support classes for this mission as per my explanations

But yeah...take care everyone who reads this, you've made me a very happy fella because of your support, more XCOM content will come soon <3

"XCOM's most infamous level? What could-"
-...-
"The whale..."

Honestly, IF XCOM ever get a tv series, this mission needs its own episode.

This level feels like what Xcom: The Bureau shouldve been.
A deep look investigating the horrifying layers under that initial surface layer of the Alien invasion.

"Newfoundland? Doesn't ring a bell"
Reads 'fishing village'
repressed memories surface

I always love how the most infamous level in xcom history essentially takes place in my backyard

"If you didn't get those references you're clearly too young"
Me being so old that I only understood the Battletoads comparison.

"What level is he... OH YEA THAT FUCKING LEVEL"

This level was completely trivialized by flashbangs. Mind you, flashbangs were hideously overpowered in general, just no one bothered to use them.

Fun fact: chrysallid wasps are a large family of wasps who parasitize the young of other hymenoptera, sometimes even keeping the host alive for a long period of time as the wasp larvea feeds on it. They are the insparation for the aliens in this franchise.

1st time doing the mission: No no no no no no no wait wait wait wait
2nd time doing the mission: Camp the whale for free level ups for the entire squad.

You know, it says a lot about a level, when a person who hasn't touched X-com in a decade knows just from reading the title what level is going to be discussed.

"I don't remember Xcom having a 'That level'. No idea what he could mean"
newfoundland mentioned
"Oh fuck"
thousand yard stare

I swear to god even knowing in advance what's coming on this mission it's still a bitch, my first time playing? A massacre

I love how in the Long War mod they threw in a pod of Thin Men because they knew people would default to a close range squad. Getting suddenly locked down by accurate fire certainly replicated at least a part of the first time shock.
I must say it also fits the the theme, they were the infiltration handlers that delivered the first Lids for the infestation and checked the progress to see if a similar strategy was worth replicating.

I remember watching my dad play Xcom on his computer. He would let my siblings and I customise a soldier or two, and then later tell us that they got eaten by a zombie or atomised by an alien.
I have massive amounts of nostalgia for just watching the game, so when I finally played Xcom 2, it quickly became one of my favourite games of all time. I always find myself coming back to it again and again.

This level is the reason I still panic when Chryssalids show up in the mission. Severe PTSD

I remember my OP sniper carrying my ass during that level.
I planted Godfather on that building overlooking the ship on the way to the exit.
Once the damn chrysalids start popping like shrooms everybody booked it except Godfather, who pretty much one-shotted any bug that got close
Thanks to him and the gunner mopping up bugs that slipped through, I managed to get through that level with no casualties.
It cemented Godfather as my favorite trooper, so much that I still remember his codename

The moment you said "fishing village" the dime dropped and I knew exactly what mission you were talking about.

If you don’t abuse ”overwatch” like a coward, you’re playing xcom wrong

I’ve never played Xcom, only played Xcom 2. Watching an entire team miss their overwatch on the first enemy move is the second worst pain imaginable.
