Look, We can all talk about how I confused Century with Millennium the entire video, but to suggest I made a mistake is Heresy. To the inquisition with you.

Remember, if the Tyranids avoid your planet, that means there's something they find "inedible" inhabiting it.

There was a Lictor in 'The Devastation of Baal' book.
Some chapters were written from its perspective, describing how it sneaked onto a ship and dropped to a planet before starting to scout. It was excellent at preserving its energy and finding its own way across the planet. Finally, it guided other Tyranids to a secret entrance, specifically attacking a target while sending others as a diversion.
It was very interesting to read.

The Lictor (in lore) also can fire bony harpoons attached to strings of sinew from it's rib cage called fleshhooks. And it's tail releases pheromones to call other Tyranids to its location if enemy concentrations are high enough. They can also squeeze through spaces that should be too small for it.

Also few things about the Fourth Tyrannic War: The Tyrannic Wars refer to the massive conflicts with the three largest Hive Fleets. Behemoth, Kraken and Leviathan. Both Behemoth and Kraken were ''defeated'' however there are still splinter fleets of Behemoth and Kraken going around consuming worlds and growing even in the 42nd Millenium. There are also many other smaller fleets that have not been defeated and are still ravaging the Galaxy (some examples are Kronos, Lotus, Hydra, Karkinos, Naga).

The Fourth Tyrannic War was only declared because another massive tendril of Hive Fleet Leviathan showed up after the Imperium thought the main tendril was defeated. It also did not start on Kedaku.

But just like the three other Tyrannic Wars before them, it is not a coherent war as we understand it. It has pretty much been a continuous invasion spanning the entire Galaxy by multiple different Hive Fleets which are all part of the same entity. In theory one could say the first war has never ended.

I do like you are covering Tyranids!

“We also fear loosing our codex brother! Also our backup codex! Then our chapters annotated codex! Then the codex I sleep with at night! It’s my comfy fuzzy friend brother!!”

Not quite related to this video, but Roanoke, I would just like to let you know that during my med school lecture today we were learning about neuropathies.  The lecturer said “presentation starts in the feet” and I IMMEDIATELY heard in your voice “Starting with the feet-“

A friend actually put a lictor in his D&D campaign... it wasnt fun ... especially when we was thinking
"I wonder if its warm blooded or cold blooded" .... its neither ... it just adapts and adapts and adapts
..... that is truly terrifying to me
A beast that adapts and only exits to hunt

For me the main takeaway of this episode was: "Happy tummy, happy dummy". Lictors are what they eat... key personnel.

Just a heads up you can use the in-game codex to get a better view of enemy types! You can also rotate and zoom in!

Pro tip, Space Marine 2 has photo mode

As a tyranid player for the past 25 years, I am absolutely geeking out that you're covering them again!!

0:23 Forty-first CENTURY?? For shaaaame. (Love your vids, thanks!)

11:10 the fact that some Litchers can be smart enough to know not to kill leaders but drive them insane to break command chain and just murder everyone but the leader is scary but really fun to read

Roanoke doing 40K! Oh shit

Hearing "starting with the feet" just brings me.

Lictors in the lore: Absolutely the most terrifying, dangerous Infantry style THING in existence.

Space Marine 2 players after playing non-stop since October, fighting 3 of them at once: Hold my Codex, brother.

It bothers me that there isn’t an achievement for executing a lictor while invisible as a sniper :(.

Is it the Angler fish? It’s the angler fish isn’t it. I mean makes sense, they’re willing to explore deep space and fight aliens on other planets, but they’d never dive into the depths of our oceans to discover the angler fish.

The tyranid force we see in SM2 is the  smallest we have seen to date.
