The netflix show 100% felt like:

"We’ve got a script for this young-adult slop lying around and we also have this Resident Evil license. How about we just mush them together and pump out some soulless slop for a quick payday?"

I'm sad you didn't mention how The Final Chapter nearly killed Olivia Jackson. She was Jovovich's stunt double for the film. While filming a motorcycle scene, Jackson collided with a camera crane at high speed without a helmet on. From the movie's Wikipedia article, her injuries included cerebral trauma, a crushed face, a severed artery in her neck, a paralyzed arm, several broken ribs, a shattered scapula, a broken clavicle, torn fingers with a thumb that needed to be amputated, and five nerves torn out of her spinal cord. Jackson's left arm later needed to be amputated after it became paralyzed. The cherry on top is that she had to sue the producers to cover her medical costs, since she was misled to believe there was insurance covering injuries. Thankfully she won the lawsuit.

As fun as it is to mock a bad movie, I think it's important to showcase just how terribly Anderson and the production handled things for cast and crew. Olivia Jackson deserved better.
EDIT: grammar

I do have to point out how out-of-character Leon is in Retribution.

First of all, there’s a moment where Alice wants to take a detour to rescue a little girl from certain death and Leon is like “No! We have to prioritise the mission!”

That is NOT Leon. Leon is a good person who wants to save everyone, and will go to the ends of the Earth to have it both ways.

Second, the film ends with him groping Ada and her being disinterested and turning him down.
Since this is a different timeline to the games, we don’t know their history or dynamic, so that moment just comes across as really creepy.
If anything, in the games, it’s Ada who keeps making advances on Leon while he is the one to be reluctant.

tbf Leon is a drunk and sleepy person, but only in cut lore. In re2 the only reason he isn't dead is because he overslept because he got too drunk the night prior. and in RE:Vendetta he is a complete mess

The live action franchise is a mixed bag but the laser scene is iconic

Let's be honest, the biggest sin of these movies is having Barry and not letting him say "You were almost a Jill sandwich!" or hey I would have even taken "You were almost an Alice sandwich!"

The live action basically just turned into a "How do I get my wife more work since nobody else will cast her?"

After re9 it’s actually crazy to hear the plot of final chapter again, it has me saying “wait, this is actually kinda accurate to the games now”

The fact that we got a dude that looks like Carlos playing Leon is just sad

So many clones of clones of clones, you'd think Kojima was involved.

Milla Jovovich and Paul WS Anderson weren't married when they worked on the first movie. The movie is actually how they first met.

Friendly reminder for Welcome to Raccoon city:
In the OG story Leon was hungover AF on his first day. He didn’t get info to stay away from the town and went to report. He broke up with his gf the day before and got hammered. So Leon acting like he had a rough night is as lore accurate as it gets.

I HATE to be the bearer of bad news and I might have misunderstood this but I am 99% sure that Zach Cregger basically confirmed that his RE movie is NOT adapting the games but is gonna be it's own original story with original characters. Now to be honest, I can see something like this being cool, like the story of a guy in Raccoon City just having the worst day of his life with the games happening around him but man, I really just want the games to be adapted.

29:08 tbh Leon was canonically hungover in RE2. He drank till he blacked out the night before his first day at RPD because of a breakup.

29:00 in original resident evil canon before the remakes Leon canonically was hung over during re2. He was late for his first day because he had drunk himself to sleep the night before after breaking up with his girlfriend.

I agree with your list order my biggest gripe with Apocalypse is that Jill is overshadowed and basically blocked from any cool moments by Alice

5:22 one thing to point out here is they weren’t married or even dating when she was cast for the role of Alice. They got to know eachother on the set as the movie was being made and began dating afterwords. She was hired because he liked her in the Fifth Element, and in that role she proved she did action scenes well.

23:21 Game Wesker dies from a mix of repeated overdoses of the serum keeping the virus in him stable, multiple gunshots, falling into a volcano and 2 rockets to the face. Movie Wesker dying from a door falling on him is pathetic in comparison.

Ryan, You got through the live action RE movies. I'm sure you can take on Hellraiser now.

100% with you on the soundtrack for the first movie. Marilyn Manson didn't have to go that hard with the music but they did and im grateful. The main theme lived rent free in my head for years. Lol
