The entity claimed that it wanted to see everything. We gave it provisional access to 4chan without the ability to post to the board. The Foundation received a single communique three hours after containment protocol was enacted, stating that "It had seen enough."

Seismic activity then occurred, completely sealing off the entrance to the submerged chasm. Neutralization deemed successful.

I really dig how the author included minor, people-eating ocean scps in the area around 5007; little anomalous ecosystems would pop up around major shit like this

Nothing to be alarmed, just your average Australian wildlife. It's just staying down there out of fear of the drop bears.

Hi! Not one to comment too often, but I'm the author of 5007 and just wanted to thank you for reading my SCP and making this amazing video! It means the world to me and has absolutely made my day!

For anyone interested in trivia, I based this off numerous real life events like the disappearance of Harold Holt, the Vanishing of Fred Valentich, the weirdly high number of ufo sightings and odd disappearances in the areas. Did you know we lost 14 fight planes there during training runs in ww2? I've lived and surfed in the bass strait pretty much my whole life and have wanted to make something special for it. Originally I was going to incorporate a few other real life disappearances into this, but in the end I decided that in those cases it might have been a little disrespectful to the people and families involved.

20:00 - If anyone's curious, this IS what the actual dude's last transmission was. "It's not an aircraft", then nothing, spooky shit. Love when IRL stuff like this is incorporated into these.

Fun fact: Prime Minister Harold Holt did actually go missing in the Bass Strait! The seeing balloons stuff is fictional though

Not to be confused with SCP 5007-J: The Bass Strait. A part of the ocean a bit west of SCP-5007 whose only anomalous quality is that one can hear faint bass playing when passing through the strait, generally described as "especially funky."

(Also: Perfect, I was just going to have lunch.
Bless you and your excellent timing)

If I had a nickle for every SCP that was an aquatic creature that can infect humans with itself and forcefully merge and mutilate their bodies into a state of unending, concious, fleshy suffering, I'd have two nickles. Which isn't much but its VERY WEIRD that it happened twice right?

I love when SCP's incorporate real world events into its narrative, it really adds another layer to the grounding and depth of the universe. Especially mysteries, like the disappearance of Harold Holt.

1:38 '5007 instances are capable of passive flight by producing enormous quantities of gases in their stomachs'

That ain't fair, I produce lots of gas in my stomach but I can't fly

@kuyachaswhub3086 4 years ago

Why are we surprised about this SCP? The whole Australia is already an SCP, at least for me.

@firetarrasque4667 4 years ago (edited)

The appearance of Harry Holt in the pit is especially unusual, due to the fact that the Foundation has no less than thirty-four seperate versions of the former Prime Minister collectively designated SCP-3477, making this in fact the thirty-fifth known instance of Harry Holt.

@craigjoe8691 4 years ago

I mean, don't all SCPs have perfectly cromulent explanations?

@GrimGoblinLives 4 years ago

"Disappearance of Harold Holt, Australian Prime Minsiter"...wait a second...that's a real thing that happenned! Clever SCP, clever

@scprealised 4 years ago

I absolutely adore this SCP. First time reading made me lose sleep, made my skin crawl, all the stuff a good horror SCP should do!

GRANT US EYES

“Eyes or bioluminescent organs.”

Yep, this is a Bloodborne boss.

@brandonspears6996 4 years ago

I know this is wishful thinking, but honestly, I want this, and a whole bunch of other scps, to be made into horror/suspense movies. I absolutely love the scp universe.
