Yamato also took part in the Battle of Samar Gulf where she sank an Escort Carrier and a Destroyer.

Brilliant review, I've got the kit and will now definitely be ordering this upgrade, looking forward to your build videos, thank you.

I can’t say that I will be building the kit at any stage, but I will certainly be watching the build series.
Should be very good.

@Nigel`s Modelling Bench..I really like to see the complete build of the Yamato. Thank you so much for all your Videos. Many greetings from Germany. Jens

Excellent advice re "checking to ensure that all parts are included". On my Enterprise kit I discovered that I was missing one 40mm bofor barrel. I contacted Pontos and they sent out a replacement that day. Actually, they sent out four pieces to ensure that at least one arrived in good order. Excellent service from a quality company!

Thank you for a detailed review. Wish you continued sucess

Great review Nigel, as always (=

You convinced me to make my purchase.

Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your thoughts, much appreciated.

I'll not too likely be getting it, but sure do appreciate the quality. Thanks for showing it to us Nigel.

My mouth has been frozen open in awe. You sure can pick them Nigel . Totally fantastic pe. 😊

Cheers Nigel!

… thank you 👍🙂

Oh, Nigel, we can only envy you, the Pontos came out, as always, quite a high-quality set! I hope in the future, when the world's problems subside, I will acquire it.🤫👍

Great video my friend and fantastic review that is a lot of etched parts really will add that fine detail to the build the wooden deck is amazing lot of work but will be worth it definitely not a weekend build 😬 thanks for sharing 👍👍

Very full and detailed review Nigel 👌

The two decks go on top of each other, and I believe Kim had access to the cad model.

ooooh cool

Very Very nice indeed.thank you for sharing.   👍

Nigel another great review 👍. I am now trying to workout how on earth I am going to get my hands on the kit and the detailing set. A bit of creative accounting and  use of a couple of years worth of birthday presents!!!
When are you planning to start the mammoth task and how much do you plan on filming?
Great stuff keep it up 👏👏👏

Fantastic review! You inspired me to order this  today . The wooden decks and pe parts really take these kits to the next level...even up to museum standard. Thank you so very much for your wonderful reviews. I have always wanted a big 1/200 Yamato since i saw the nichimo version in the old squadron signal catalogs back in the mid 70s. I was able to get the 1/200 glow Yamato for $578 off of Amazon.  Also was able to get the 1/200 Japanese  crew figures and also got the judo tournament figures will have mounted doing a tournament on the aft flight deck  :). Northstar models makes 1/200 naval crew figures for ww2 us, British, German and Japanese. Some of the sets are just standing and others are in working poses such as handling ammo, saluting, or swabbing the decks.

About sinking of Yamato: "The Americans lost 10 planes and 14 air crewmen; three others were injured." So yes, it took some life.
