Unfortunately due to Games Workshop doubling down against Fan Works I no longer feel safe continueing making Warhammer content.

remember all of this started cause horus got stabbed with a poop knife

The emperor was asking for trouble when he named his favourite son Horus Heresy

One thing i never understood about the books was how they would emphasize how handsome Horus was. I look at him and think 80 year old Bruce Willis.

Loyalist: “A good life isn’t it captain?”
looks at the incoming bombardment
Tarvitz: “The best”

If only Horus hadn’t smoked that Devil’s lettuce, then all of this could’ve been averted

We can't forget how Rylanor just plopped down in a hanger, wounded, and waited for centuries to try and kill his former Primarch...what a chad.

One thing I always loved about Warhammer, is the constant power creep check.
3 Traitor Primarchs at Istvaan III, executing a meticulously well thought cull from the Warmaster himself against only 1/3rd of their legions? What could withstand that?
Some lowly captains with colossal balls and nothing to lose.

After the release of Space Marines 2…would be awesome to have a Warhammer game solely based on the Horus Heresy. Just imagine how cool and detailed that campaign could be.

1:26:41 the most epic moment in 40k history, men holding onto their honor to the last man standing, not for pride, but to buy the Imperium time. Every second they suffered would save dozens of lives.

the introduction of "how Horrus ruined Christmas" such a colorful reading/audiobook to listen to when on a road trip.

It's honesty kinda sad that we see the breakdown of the series this early: In Horus Rising Dan Abnett sets up Horus looking down on humanity and resenting mortals taking over what the Primarchs and Astartes have conquered, implying it will be the unifying cause Chaos comes to exploit. In False Gods however Graham McNeill has Horus duped to believe the Emperor is trying to be a god and makes that Horus' cause to rebel. And while the irony of Horus causing the future he seeks to prevent under false premises (and almost making those premises true as a consequence of his actions as of The End and the Death) is delicious, it also means there is little unifying cause in the rebellion since Horus' source is literally "it came to me in a dream".

Because there is no unifying cause every traitor primarch gets their own fall story and reason to rebel, which gives them very diferent motivations that demands they all pull to different directions, so that's what each writer begins to build on. Almost each Primarch's tragic law also become crippling, and Horus even lampshades this. As a result the Prmarch that was made Warmaster for his ability to get his brothers work together can't actually do that once he switches sides.

28:28 I can hear the scream of Brother Wilhelmus.

Please for the Love of the Emperor, do a full series on the Horus Heresy. This is absolutely astonishing work!

Poor Horus… that Poop Knife really ruined the guy.

An aspect of the heresy that has always struck me was that the ones who ultimately betrayed the Imperium tended to view themselves as above the ordinary humans. False Gods literally features superhuman soldiers conspiring to unalive a poet for the crime of criticizing them and acting like it is an outrage for Imperial army officers to call for one of their own to stand trial for crimes against civilians. Astartes like Abadon and the other traitors not only think that being superhumans make them better than ordinary people, but that such a trait elevates them above the law.

My favorite part was when John Warhammer beat Horus Heresy and recovered the 40,000 warhammers

1:10:40 one rare moment where "Trust me, Bro." really worked out.

As someone who has just finished Horus Rising and is halfway through False Gods, this visual breakdown is an absolutely essential accompaniment piece to better visualize the events, characters and plotline of those books.
