On January 6, 2025, officers in Ellensburg, Washington, responded after receiving reports of a 2025 Chevy Trax driving recklessly on Interstate 82 near Manastash Hill. The vehicle was reportedly swerving, tailgating, and brake-checking other drivers while traveling through dense fog. The Chevy later struck a guardrail near the Interstate 90 interchange before continuing into Ellensburg.

An officer later located the vehicle on Main Street and attempted to make contact with the driver, identified as Kelli Rae Bighorn. When the officer exited his patrol vehicle, Bighorn allegedly sped away. Officers pursued the Chevy before additional units were able to box the vehicle in near 14th Avenue and bring the incident to an end. Bighorn was charged with hit-and-run, driving under the influence (DUI), reckless driving, and attempting to elude police. Breath tests administered at the Washington State Patrol office reportedly produced readings between .227 and .243.

Watch the body cam footage as officers investigate the reckless-driving reports, locate the vehicle, and ultimately take the driver into custody.
