Curious how you came up with that curved top edge for the half-open window. The real glass would be a trapazoid to match the frame, like the part you pulled off. But I do like the idea of it being rolled down a bit to give the impression of the truck being used by people.

Enter it anyway, it’s nice to see more models on the tables. The build looks good.

So, here's the thing with masking fluid: it is actually silicone in different grades of fluidity, and when it dries - eventually, it will indeed become rock hard. I never use the stuff myself, since a part masked can be so a very long time. So instead I use wooden glue - it doesn't adhere to the part the same way and if applied in a thick layer it is a breeze to peel off with a tooth pick.

After building models for over 55 years, all I can say is build your models FOR YOURSELF. Different people will have different opinions based on their own bias. Are they they type that gives constructive criticism, or just plain criticism for the sake of it? If it looks good to you who cares what others think. It's the "man in the Arena" syndrome. It's easy to put down the man on the field when they are sitting comfortably up in the bleachers, neither feeling the sting of defeat OR the thrill of victory.

Nice build. My one tip based on the trucks I've worked on is that you should have weathered the back of the cab more heavily with a mix of dust and exhaust stains. Nobody ever cleans that part of the truck and it is always filthy. If there's a rear window, you should not be able to see out of it. I would imagine that the space between the cab and the fuel tank would be black.

As a beginner, I'm alarmed to learn that masking fluid might just be... irremoveable!!! Eek.

Heck the competitions your way must be at a very high standard for your model not to be good enough to enter! Feel for you dealing with the windows but recovered well! Keep the faith😊

Enjoyed the video. But please note, a model doesn't have to be "competition worthy" to be entered in a contest. Ultimately a contest is about sharing our models with likeminded enthusiasts.

Its definitely not competition worthy! Its an OK job! Your techniques are sloppy and maybe watch a few NIGHTSHIFT Video's to help improve! I'm no expert and my kits are just above average IMO, but I have a lot of room for improvement! I do a lot of learning and experimentation to improve and feel I might have about 3 to 5 builds that might do well in a competition! I won once for Peoples Choice with a Dragon and Wizard Diorama, but that's it! Mind you I only have ever entered 2 competitions! I also build every type of models not just military! Keep practicing and improvement will come, good luck!🤔🤔🤔
