From 1971 through 1985, it was a Memorial Day weekend tradition in millions of homes (including mine) for families (including mine) to listen to the live radio broadcast of the Indianapolis "500" and then watched the edited videotape of the race on TV that evening.
This was the first Indy 500 I ever went to. I was 12 and loved every second of it! I had hers back then, Foyt, Andretti< Mears, Johncock,Rutherford,Snenva. Racing now sucks compared to then, too many damn rules and regulations and not enough variety in engine and chassis manufacturers. Offy's, Consworth, Chevy, Buick, Judd, so much cooler back then.
Unser family/team penski drivers dirty as hell. Im actually suprised Al jr. didnt intentionally wreck sneva to protect his dads win. Love how they failed and sneva snatched the win from these shitbag racers.
