The sims in general is pmo. With the sims being sold, the sims team not fixing bugs properly, cc creators charging for basic reshades and holding stuff behind a paywall infinitely, mod creators incorporating inappropriate topics in their mods, etc. I just stick to the sims 3 at this point 😭

Just needed to add this here, but there are some victims of abuse who do unfortunately victimized other people and become the abusers.

Stuff like this NEEDS to be talked about a lot more in conversations.

Unpopular Opinion, but there ARE unhealthy coping mechanisms. And if engaging with this kind of content is anyone's idea of coping, they are not healing mentally. That's just my own opinion based on what I know and experiences I have had in life. I do have a BA in psychology too

I hate the "well its ok to kill ppl in games" argument because those are very different. Like what you said,  for one homicides often get solved and victims get justice while with sexual violence that is a majority of the time not the case. When I think of more violent video games like GTA, RDR2, CP77, COD, and other FPS games the violence isn't usually one sided, you are combatting in war zones and there are other aspects to the game that doesn't make it extreme and senseless violence. In COD campaigns you are a soldier fighting in a war or fighting zombies depending on the mode. In GTA you are a criminal fighting other criminals. With a mod like the ones shown in this video the dynamic is completely different because sexual violence can't be mutual the way gun violence is in other video games. There is only the victim and the perpetrator(s). Oh and not to mention, obscene gun violence games do exist. Such as Active Shooter and Hatred . Hate that this even needs an explanation.

as someone who is a psych/neuroscience student i really like the way you approach topics like these. i like that you come from it from a place of sensitivity but also from a research standpoint. retraumaziation through specifically video games is something I think about a lot and im not sure how much research is done on it. especially in various mod communities. great job and im glad you're back and safe 🫶

A real doctor? They should have their license revoked and should be imprisoned.

It’s one thing to make mods about serious topics with care and sensitivity, and it’s another to make hilariously awful and atrocious mods that seemingly MOCK said serious topics.
Like, I get that we have the ability to create but some people just shouldn’t!

as an adult theres nothing wrong with using wicked whims and i mean if u wanna get off to ur sims doing it then just do whatever lol, but if ur bringing grooming and groups that CANNOT consent then that is wrong and shouldnt be normalized liek GET HELP

The thing is a LOT of people who are survivors and find these things still 'hot' or whatever are people who have NOT actual internalized that they were groomed/what happened to them was actually bad. They were convinced it was okay and they have not managed to turn it off. Its part of why some people who go thru these things end up repeating the cycle, esp if they find themselves doing it without really intending to. And online, a lot of circles will refuse to acknowledge these things are bad until theyre forced to acknowledge passively endorsing harm or ignoring it.

I'm a pretty big advocate that any topic can be in games...this is not what I mean.

I understand you said you wanted to veer away from Sims content but the type of content you create is in no way promotional for the Sims, it's a very different type of content, so if you were worried about public perception on Sims content I just wanted to give you my two cents on that and tell you that I don't feel you have anything to worry about there.

Im a sims 3 player!! I really prefer the customization of it + late 2000s aesthetics but i was looking for a WW type mode and i downloaded this one from lovers lab that had traits for ephebophilia and as soon as i saw that i immediately deleted the file of the mod because i felt like my ass was gonna be on a watchlist. There is definitely cases of modders making actual csa mods too so honestly i really think these are a slippery slope to those

What really bothers me about this issue is that it's not a black and white question. Because I believe that generalizing is always wrong (please allow me to explain). I think there are people (victims of sexual abuse/grooming or not) who consume this type of content as a way to cope with trauma, and it doesn't negatively affect them. BUT there are people who can be affected and, instead of healing, end up being retraumatized. I don't think what you consume is the same as what you will do; there are many issues that affect an individual that go far beyond that (genetic factors, environment, local culture, social interactions, the ability to distinguish fiction from reality, and a predisposition to certain risky behaviors, etc.). I'm a psychology student, and I asked my therapist if it's wrong for games to address rape, violence, shooting games, among other things, and she said no, giving the same justification I mentioned above. I believe that each case is different and each therapist will have a different opinion. , but what was shown in the video is very strange because the mod creator is romanticizing the situation.  I don't see anything positive in this, especially in a game where children can access this type of content so easily.

I was looking for WW stuff and i found Alonleys animation post called "cats and dogs, cottage living, horse ranch" and i thought it probably something that was fixed for those EPs....yeah no i was wrong.....

I didn't even realize this stuff existed. I love mods but why does this exist?

We missed you! Please take care of yourself and put your needs first. Soooo happy you’re back!! Thank you for shedding a light on these difficult topics again and educating. In all honesty the sims is getting worse day by day, with the modding community and EA, it’s all going to shit and that’s why I, myself have stopped playing. But thanks for making this digestible and easy to understand. I hope you feel better and get over the sniffles. I hope you continue to do well and I’ll continue to come back and watch. As a CSA survivor, your videos make me feel seen and highlight issues I didn’t even know existed, it’s healing. Please take care of yourself and be safe!! Also you looked GORGEOUS in this vid btw 🩷🩷

Oh my god,, the about us is actually heartbreaking its so sad people get drawn into this and repeatedly retraumatized shittt

while it's important for survivors to heal in whatever way works for them, there's always a fine line between healing and re-traumatising yourself. i feel like a lot of people use the term 'healing' to obfuscate what's really going on. this person is clearly unwell

I honestly think how some abusers can also be master manipulators too like some of them are so calculated that from what I experienced unfortunately like my elementary school principal named Karen . She was extremely manipulative and rude to students like getting people into trouble for speaking up when she is clearly being a bully . She also spread rumours like about kids. And seems fixated on me like showing unprofessional levels of favouritism like she one time grabbed my face and raised my dimples to make me look like I’m smiling to make me smile and calling me cute it’s so creepy. Like i won’t go into detail one of the worst things she did but like it left me with low self esteem and sadly my mom is still in denial about it and no one had come forward to expose Karen .

I stumbled across these mods sometime earlier this year and completely forgot about it... (I ran away asap cuz I'm a survivor I don't want that near me) but I had no idea it was this bad, I hope the creator deleted everything because they're seeking help...
