Joachim and the Suicide That Marked the True End of the German Empire

History Revealed

Here lies a man condemned by the world as a ""war criminal,"" a remnant of a fallen empire, a cowardly loser who took his own life amidst a swamp of debt and scandal. Yet, shift your gaze, and in that very same spot lies a ""martyr,"" resting under the solemn guard of the Prussian elite. Global mockery and national mourning collide violently over the cold body of a single man: Prince Joachim of Prussia. What could possibly transform the ""son of a war criminal"" into a ""tragic hero""? And why, in a world where his empire had already crumbled, did he choose to vanish into history by his own hand rather than survive in the ruins? This is the story of the Prince who was the glitch in the genetic program of the Hohenzollerns, the boy who could not survive being one of them.

What a terrible life, doomed from the start. Poor fellow, hadn't a hope.

So…. Raised like Rudolph, Joachim kills himself.
Rudolph killed himself.
Did these parents not learn anything?!?

The most disastrous, pointless and avoidable war in history. Europe's suicide.

With a father like he had, I can’t blame him.

None of this would have happened if the aftermath of Franz Ferdinad's assassination had remained between Austria- Hungary and Serbia, but NOOOO. That fool Kaiser Wilhelm just had to get involved. The Ottoman Empire was carved up into these bothersome muslim countries, the Treaty of Versailles set the stage for the rise of Hitler, WWII, the holocaust, the Cold War etc. To top it off, Kaiser Wilhelm had the nerve to blame HIS mess on the Jews. Yep, Willy possessed ZERO self awareness. It was everyone's fault but his. Smh

Frederic the Great was married but had no children. He had no direct descendants. Joachim's great grandmother was Queen Victoria. Did Joachim's brother really believe the Nazi regime was good for tradition and the monarchy?

A miserable destiny

Henry VIII would've given Augusta-Victoria the entire UK for 6 sons.

Poor Joachim. I have never heard this story, and this is a period I read a lot about. I would not have wanted to grow up in that household, but they did have awesome boots.

Augusta-Viktoria and her two spinster sisters were all hyper religious Lutherans. their nickname was "the Amen Corner."

Joachim's ex-wife adopted Zsa Zsa Gabor's last husband as an adult so that he could get the title of prince.

Couldn't even begin to imagine what it was like to have the Kaiser as your father! No thanks!!

Well done, sad war though, that unnecessary war was the beginning of the end

It the Kaiser had only remained in power, Germany would have been spared. The European Royals must have the love of their subjects, unlike the capitalists who can move their factories to other countries, or the dictators, who kill or imprison the people.
