I appreciate the candor, and a review geared towards helping people understanding what they are getting. As well as what they are missing.

Excellent review, refreshing to hear an honest take from a longtime fan. I had the original too, and its definitely lost its way over the years.

Great honest review

Brilliant review. cheers.

There have been Houses and lore since the original Necromunda 95.

Personally I love the lore and encourage my players to create backstory for their gangs. For me Necromunda is a role playing game played out in tabletop skirmishes.

I agree that as a starter set that all gang fighters in this set should have their own stat cards included.  Once the figures have been assembled, you should be able to set up and start rolling dice as quickly as possible.

100% agree with everything you said Peter. Necromunda is a vertical game too

All true.  Great review.  I think you should film a battlereport with just this set to see if anyone has any fun.

Great review.  Have been wanting to get into the game and was excited about this but will be taking your advice and just buying a gang box & the book.  Cheers.

spot on

Great Review.  A buddy of mine has been playing home brew Necromunda for years so I thought this was the time to get into it.  I bought the core box and as you mentioned, I had no idea how to make a good gang, what were good weapons to take, etc.  Even though I'm not new to gaming, this turned me off a bit, combined with needing two books to put my gang together , then googling to find an online builder, etc.  I would have much preferred a pre-built gang that matched the models.   That being said, after all that, my first game was good fun but he had terrain from having played for years.  Next is a couple more games to get the rules down, then switch to campaign mode.

Thanks for the video! I will definitely avoid this box. The terrain situation is crazy. Not having any multi leveled terrain is crazy for a game like this.
On a random note, I really appreciate all the Warcry videos. Its been a huge help for getting into the game.

OOF. Honest review and applause for that.

But this does sum up why I kind of checked out of most GW products. You get increasinly less for an increasingly higher cost. They seem to want to please share holders instead of customers.

I'm in australia, I've played for years and own nearly everything, this edition is a huge let down, they've changed very little, stripped away 90 percent that they will eventually sell back to us. I found the n23 update quite easy to transition to afrom n17 as most of the older shit wasn't made redundant. I believe necromunda is finally popular enough for GW to try the reset for cash system they implement in every major game they have. I'll never understand blind loyalty to a company that has never been loyal to its customers. As for the reason we can't find honest opinions anymore, is because most youtubers want free product, you don't receive free product if you don't curb your negative comments. It's a weird cycle, small channels gain traction from the community, through honest reviews and opinions, until they get big enough to double dip and expect payouts and free shit from the company while also wanting those patrons from the community while the community only get specific GW talking points from now on

Imagine what a modern Mordheim will look like.

Fallout factions is a very enjoyable campaign skirmish game. Clearly inspired by necromunda. Hits either wound or harm. Harm stacks making future hits more likely to cause wounds.
A single roll is used to determine all of that.

What a solid honest review. Thank you. - Nathan B.

Preach on, every time I think of giving AoS or 40k a try I watch a battle report on youtube and as soon as they get to the roll to hiht, roll to wound, roll to save, roll for invulnerable save, roll for hot roll for whatever my eyes just glaze over, I can't do it, I cannot sit through that, my body retches and recoils. Now as for necromunda I wonder would a better move is GW putting in some mdf or cardstock (halo flashpoint like terrain) do at least somewhat simulate the verticality and density of terrain that makes a necromunda board really sing?

1995 boxed set was Orlock and Goliath not Escher and Goliath…

An excellent review. I also started playing with the original 1995 version and it is a fantastic fun game. I will just be buying the updated rule book this time round.
