What Happened To 24-hour Clubbing in Ibiza?

There was a time when Ibiza genuinely never stopped. Clubs finished in the early hours and thousands of us simply carried on. Straight to Space, DC10, morning bars, boat parties and some seriously questionable after-parties.

I was right in the middle of it.

For years, I made a living running Ibiza after-parties, including the infamous Shipwrecked morning boat parties and the Dirty Rotten DJs events. We would start at 6am and sometimes carry on until the afternoon.

Then everything changed.

Restrictions introduced across Ibiza in 2007 and 2008 effectively brought the island's legendary morning clubbing culture to an end. For promoters like us, it completely changed our businesses. For clubbers, it changed the rhythm of Ibiza forever.

In this episode of My Take, I tell the story from my perspective: the first 6am Shipwrecked parties, transporting hundreds of ravers across the island when the restrictions began, the madness of Ibiza's after-party scene and what happened when 24-hour Ibiza finally came to an end.

Did you experience Ibiza's legendary morning clubbing era? Did you go straight from Manumission to Space, dance at DC10 in the morning, or end up at one of the island's infamous after-parties?
