List prices for each of your listings: $256,634 vs $105,873.  That's a HUGE factor worth mentioning.

So we went from a 2015 F350 platinum to a 2012 sport chassis, then down to a 2019 F450 platinum last year. The F450 takes the cake. Sport chassis was air ride chassis, air ride cab, air ride seat and it would still give you a black eye on an overpass or pot hole. Maintenance was WAY MORE than a traditional pickup and where it might very well out last a pickup the maintenance is double and triple the cost. 350 didn’t command the trailer enough for us and that’s something the sport chassis clearly wins on. Don’t even feel 40k behind it. But the F450 is a perfect blend. Enough truck to command any trailer behind it yet still comfortable and affordable in class.

An M2 has the payload of that entire F450.

I own a f450, the f450 does not weigh 7500. The curb weight of a f450 is close to 9850lbs

Another great video Larry to share with my friends on FB, including Santa.

Both are amazing the freightliner m2 is designed for long journeys but Ford f-450 for work on ranches nice video😊

@8:02 being a Heavy Duty mechanic I can’t agree with you. Air brakes have an application lag of 0.07 seconds, but hydraulic brakes are instant. Second, driver never feel the brakes in air brake system, all though the feel is simulated in some modern trucks. But we still use air brakes in medium and heavy trucks because we can keep pouring in air in the system in case of leaks until we hit next service point. So, hydraulic system is sharper but air system is more customizable. Thanks for video though

You need to weight that 450 again.  It is around 9,800 pounds

Excellent

I’m comparing the F-450 to the M2 112. I’m wondering where you get that a Ford 6.7 PSD will only last 200,000- 300,000 miles? I put 125,000 a year on mine. My last truck had 280,000 when I traded it for new it was still running fine. I work with guys who have 600K miles without major issues, just good general maintenance. I also know from experience that a 6.7 HO PSD with the new 10 spd transmission will pull a 25K RV @ 65-75 mph all day long, up or down any grade in the USA. Your comparison is thorough but not very much of what you said matters to me.  How does the turning radius compare? What’s the max pin weight of the M2 112? What’s the max tow capacity of the M2 112? Is the M2 112 available in 4WD? Is the M2 112 air ride on both axles? It’s a lot of money for a truck and frankly I don’t see the value for an additional $100K.

f450 owner here. the new f450 has lay flat driver and passenger seats.  I would argue much more comfortable to lay down with back and head support.  The brake issue is a non issue,  you tow 25k and the Ford STOPS.    Much more comfortable.  More powerful.  Turning radius, comfort, cameras, amenities,   blah blah blah.  The f450 is the King of towing, until you go to a full blown heavy hauler like a semi truck!!     I have airbags.  a true 8 foot bed.  Onboard inverter,   truly a pleasure to drive.

I'm a Ford Truck enthusiast, but when it comes to straight trucks it's Freightliner. I want to start a logistics company and I want an M2 Box Truck. With that being said my dream personal truck is an F250 Lariat Tremor. Now if its an old B700 especially from 1980-94, then I'd pick an old B700 over anything.

Actually the 6.7 powerstroke if well maintained lasts between 300,000-500,000 miles at average some have even reached a million miles

Good job explaining the difference between each truck Larry. I am a former long haul trucker. I love my big trucks. My wife and I are buying a 46' 5th wheel RV and we will be buying a RV Hauler to pull it with. I would love to get a M2 106 plus to pull it with. However my wife both have mobility issues , hers are worse than mine. I know devices exist that can be added to any truck to help her get in the truck. Money talks. Also I am looking at the truck being parked for a month or two at a time at home. Unlike the F-450 the M2 is not a economical vehicle to drive on a daily. The F450 is less expensive to drive. I had a 99 F-350 Power Stroke that I put over 336k on. Replaced the water pump two times ( 2nd time the pump was still under warranty ) Replace #6 fuel injector and the turbo. The catalytic converter defeated by way of the guts turning lose and stopping the exhaust from flowing throw and forced the turbo to blow. Truck was no longer under warranty. It was a hot shot truck. I sold it to my best friend and wish now that I wasn't in a position to have to. He let it sit and has been sitting over 20 years now. It would still be on the road if I had it.  My tranny would had faulted long before the engine. I took super good care of both.  I will come around to making a decision when the time comes to buy our rv hauler.  If I was still able to drive otr on a daily and was hot shot trucking I would surely buy the M2 because it is built for the long hauls on a daily

I lemon lawed my 2022 F450 due to it being in the shop more than on the road. My 2007 Freightliner Columbia 2-axle will run circles around both of those trucks. It has a mid-roof 70" sleeper 207" wheelbase that you can stand up in. Oil changes are every 20k miles, which I do myself for a couple of hundred bucks. All the filters and maintenance points are easy to reach. It gets roughly the same fuel economy, 8mpg towing, and 17 plus cruising empty @62mph. My friend got a blowout on the steer tire of his Ford dually, and he was forced to trade in his truck since the tire blew through the inner fender and mangled the wiring harness. The part was backordered for 6 months, just like my Ford. Everybody has a story about how reliable the Ford 6.7 is, but look in the service department of any dealer, and you will see one without the body on the frame, since you can't repair the engine without removing the cab. I'm glad I still have my reliable 2015 Ram dually with the weight-saving option. That's why Ram and Freightliner own the trucking market: reliability, ease of service, and parts availability.

I literally just weighed my F450 3 days ago, same spec and color as that one, weighed in with full tanks and it came in at 10,431 lbs....either this is a 350 or you made a mistake.
Also that M2 may require a CDL in most states.
Also that M2 probably wouldn't hold up as a...say a Freighliner Cascadia? The argument about which one you would walk away from a crash is ...well both because the odds you crashed with anything as heavy or heavier than these 2 things is very low....so it might as well kill who ever you crashed into.
Air brakes are not better than hydraulic brakes, they are just better as they can still work with leaks because you can just keep shoving air into it while the hydraulic fluid would run out, not because it is superior in anyway in fact it is not as it gives no feedback and rarely is it easy to get used to in modulation for most people.
Also longivety in most 450s is very high we have a few 22 f450s closing in on 300k miles and they are solid, only 1 had an issue with a rad being pierced by a stone other than that solid.
Also the price difference is large, you can get a whole Ram1500 Tungsten for the extra cash on the M2
I would say that yes, you have more margin with more capability but that would be true if we compares the M2 to a Semi.
Also 1 more thing I forgot to say is, people use the 450 as a normal family and daily use car after they are done with work and towing, can't really go park at your walmart with that M2 or go to your fav dinner spot in the city with your lady with that M2

How come you don't  compare the cost

I like the idea of this video but its execution wasn't what I was hoping to see. I'm more interested in size difference such as actual width number to actual length number. A man measuring with his two arms how much seat room is available isn't very informative. Things to consider for me is how does each truck do away from the highway? Maneuverability in an rv park. Once I park my RV then this is the vehicle that will get me to the grocery store, points of interest, etc. Does the Freightliner make sense to do that in crowded areas? Overall cost, yes the Freightliner will outlast the Ford I don't think anyone would question that but what about average insurance cost, maintenance cost, and fuel mileage?

Is both of them for sale

Both are beautiful trucks... but isn't this like comparing a Ford F450 with a Ford Ranger?
