One step closer to the Brat reaction

saw this video, gasped and IMMEDIATELY clicked

There is an interview where she does the vocal flipping live in acapella and it is insane

They exaggerated a bit about the meaning of Billions being all about sperm and lovemaking. There’s a lot more to that song than just that. Look at what Caroline said about it: “Billions” is really about pure sensuality, about all agenda falling away and just the gorgeous sensuality of existing in this world that’s so full of abundance, and so full of contradictions, humour and eroticism. It’s a cheeky sailboat trip through all these feelings. You know that feeling of when you’re driving a car to the beach, that first moment when you turn the corner and see the ocean spreading out in front of you? That’s what I wanted the ending of this album to feel like: The song goes very quiet all of a sudden, and then you see the water and the children’s choir comes in.

its always so fun seeing people trying to comprehend Caroline's vocals lmao, if your still not sure, most if not ALL her vocals are just her, no stuff added unless its really on purpose

would very much recommend her tiny desk performance. Her vocal ability is insane, everything you hear on the album she can do live

She is a classically trained soprano… she did a solo project singing a whole aria with the craziest voices… She is truly an art angel. BTW， please check out her debut album-Pang as well， even though not as diverse in production as desire， still a very experimental and interesting pop project

Completely get your reservations about pop music being all business decisions/producers doing all the work and handing an artist a completed song for them to sing over - but this specific realm of pop (more "art pop" or experimental pop) seems to be different, in that the artist themselves are usually one of a few producers, and it is often more a collaborative effort between artists/producers who are genuinely friends and have styles that blend really well, and do really creative, cohesive work together. Specifically thinking of pop-adjacent artists like caroline, charli xcx, oklou, sega bodega, shygirl, rosalia, fka twigs etc

Definitely watch her tiny desk!!!!!! She is absolutely phenomenal and I watch every couple of months and it still blows me away!!

This is my favorite pop album in recent memory. I cant stop coming back to this record

Honestly surprised to hear that you've had those kinds of reservations about pop music. I've watched several of your reactions and you've always seemed pretty open-minded. No judgement though, I've certainly had my doubts about enjoying many kinds of music (and still do in some cases) and it's always rewarding to work through that and expand your understanding and appreciation of music.

I think the number one thing that well-crafted pop music does better than maybe any other genre is that it's just FUN to listen to. Caroline Polacheck and Magdalena Bay are a good way into pop for someone coming a rock/prog/jazz background because there's a lot of technical mastery and detail for your brain to focus on while taking in a new kind of music, but if you continue on this journey you'll come to find out that you can take out a lot of that complexity and musical flair without removing the fun.

I think Beyoncé's "Renaissance" would be a great next pop album for you if you haven't heard it yet. It came out in 2022 and I still go back to it quite often.

My favorite album of the year this one came out. I spent an entire year with this album stuck in my head in one way or another. One of the most captivating and truly creative voices in pop music!

album of the decade

i'm glad someone requested this omgg

Take a listen to the extended "Everasking Edtion" of that one. I Believe is inspired by Celine Dion, not Cher btw.

I love your content!! You should try Visions of a Life by Wolf Alice, or a group called She’ll Hunt!

i ve been waiting for this!!!

I recommend you “speak for yourself” by Imogen heap ( is a classic 👌🏽🤍)

Caroline singing on Fly to You with those almost jungle snares sounds SO much like the Ghost in the Shell opening–Inner Universe–to me (despite that being in like, russian and latin I think)

🙏🙏please do the next Dylan album reaction my man, the wait is killing me
