Watching this has made me cry just to let you all know I am the baby in this we live in wales now and we are doing so well!! Thank you to everyone for the nice comments it’s so appreciated

300 pound interest in 500 pound loan. then they are VISITED by that mobster who calls himself part of the family. sick

I'm sorry, Dean isn't on babysitting duty, he's the father. He's not babysitting his own child.

Had to raise an eye brow at the old ‘loanshark’ presenting himself as a ‘kindly old uncle’ who’s been serving the community for years and then hittin’em up for 60% interest!

That loan shark taking advantage of the poor is the lowest type of human being. These types have been around for melenia taking advantage of the vulnerable.

‘BabysitIing’ no he’s looking after his own child.

Just a little update for people we are doing great we live in wales I tried so hard to turn things around at the time of this being filmed was around 16 years ago I was in a bad place so much so it’s not shown in this tv episode and I’ll double down on that it’s tv they were making a tv programme and truth is they didn’t really care about us it was about the show anyway we took a massive risk and move and it was the best thing we ever did we have a great life now I was very young and immature at the time this was filmed and I do regret my attitude and outlook on life at the time they were dark times but we have everything we ever wanted now I’m truly grateful to all the people who have commented with kind words

I’m the guy with a skin head and broken teeth and one tattoo 😁

She has the perfect personality to be doing this type of job. She's so stern and honest but uplifting and personable at the same time.

The old rent bloke who comes round and says 'he's part of the family.'  Creepy old git - 'family' don't charge criminal rates of interest on loans.

Credit to Dean for not sticking his nose up at the bin work experience he was given. A lot of people seem to think they are too good for certain jobs despite being on the dole

Just an update I’m Maxine from this show it was filmed almost 15 years ago now me and dean are still happily together and also have another child we’ve both worked hard over the last 15 years and moved our lives to south wales where I work 2 jobs and dean has a very good job/carreer looking back on this it’s very sad that we were stuck in this rut but it sadly happens we are not where we are now because of this show were here because of hard work we were on benefits for a total of 14 months and haven’t been on them since and after giving ourselves a kick up the arse and gaining a bit of confidence we got ourselves  out of this situation not that I would look down on anyone in this situation needs must once the tv cameras and Hayley left that was the end of everything no job no works experience nothing but bullying and name calling 1 hr of a tv show from 11 hrs a day 7 days a week over a month filming

The loan guy is a theif in a suit.

"If the job centre encouraged me to work"

No no no no. You have a daughter you should work for her.

I actually laughed when she said "part of the family, not when he's charging that much interest." And then "Bye now", in a such a cheery voice. She's right, I don't know how long they take to pay the money back but paying back an extra 60% in interest is a lot no matter how you look at it!

She is so lovely !! So many of these shows portray people on benefits in such a negative light. She really brings out the amazing potential in everyone she works with. Also her discussing the lack of confidence and poor self belief the people have. Such a decent woman !

Benefits shouldn’t be lowered, the minimum wage should be raised.
People shouldn’t have to join the workforce due to fear of poverty, there should be incentive in workplaces for people to want to engage & be part of the team.
Everyone is a winner.

How the hell can they afford two staffies?

I was in tears when he got offered that job. Fantastic news. Good on them both.

Dean / people in his situation have a massive opportunity if there are warehouse Jobs available. I started working in warehouses at college and learned all about supply chain and process. I now work as a supply chain consultant clearing £150k a year. You will not start at the top with an amazing job but put in the work and you will get there.

I felt so emotional watching them gradually open up, get uncomfortable then gain confidence to have Maxine's interview cancelled 😭 well done in your interview Dean and to both of you putting yourselves out there 💓
