I am 56 years old. Ols school breakdancer and martial artists throughout my life. The last 3 & 1/2 years I've been a caregiver for my Mom and got into mountain biking 1year and 5 months ago. Your tutorials have been amazing and have helped me go from riding green trails to double blacks in less than a year. It is such therapy for me while dealing with my Mom's dementia. Never thought at my age I would feel like a kid again 🤣. I've ridden motorcycle for over 30 years and love mountain biking more. Thank you again for these videos

Haven't rode for a long time, getting the kids into it and want to help them get confident.

When you get over 60 and you're riding alone in the middle of nowhere you don't really want to be out of your comfort zone. I have to check up and go around the big gap jumps and it sucks because some are doable. When any crash could force me to stop riding I try to be safe and still have fun.
Your tips are good because the idea of riding your skills off the cliff is what I want to avoid.

There's a trail I ride that's essentially continuous switchbacks.  The foot technique works well. What makes this hard is the switchbacks are close together.  It doesn't leave much time to unweight and switch weight to the outside foot.  What's interesting is that if I ride at night with a good light, I actually go a lot faster because it just looks easier but it's probably because the light only shines in one small section and all I have to do is point in that direction.  Would like to share a photo or video of it.

I've been trying to keep my outside pedal down, but I'll try keeping the pedals more parallel and focus on the forward pedal.  Thanks for the tips!

Pedal press is the bomb!

Excellent points and perspective as always Dave! Looking forward to applying some of these tips!

Love your teaching

Great pedal technique that I never knew!

I shall try standing on the pedals tilted inwards. Thank you for tip

Like and shared. I am just trying to learn everything I can and I am starting late in life.

Hola, me encantó tu video y tu filosofía. Te di tu like y me suscribí.

Better trainers 🤘

Dave, great video, definately think I need to follow your advice in the "getting out of your comfort zone" section!

I like what you’re saying… 🤘🤘🤘I’m in my mid 50s and love riding.  I’d signup if you came to NE Pennsylvania for a clinic.

Braydon Bringhurst's movie, 8600FT, changed my perspective on sessioning and how I feel about repeated failure. Is this our 75th try? No, it's our 3rd try. Okay, well maybe we haven't really tried that much. Calm down and do a few more.

Broke my elbow 10 months ago, confidence is slowly coming black but still subconsciously my body wants to move back when cornering therefore making my front wheel feel light and loose confidence even more in the corner.

Consider a lesson to be an hour: that's 39,769,200 seconds of lessons given.

So I started to look up core exercises to get a good daily routine. I was watching some videos thinking, "These look fairly easy." Then, probably 20 seconds in and realized what a naive, childish thought that was. FEEL THE BURN!!!

Trackstand 😅
