How brutal is rugby actually?

As an American watching this, some of these hits and players look straight up illegal 😂 But I get why people love the sport — the physicality is on another level.

The Tuilagi family (and there are a few of them, one of whom played for England) are all absolute beasts. Incredible.

Hello!
I'm french and for me, Lomu is the GOAT.
What a player, what a legend!
His funerals were so emotional...🕊

Jonah Lomu. Rugbys first global superstar. Single handedly put NZ rugby and if not rugby in general on the map. One of the great pillars of this sport we love so very much. Respected by all. Rest in eternal peace and love #11 🕊️

How does Etzebeth eat an elephant? In one go, as a starter, having first killed it with a hard stare. 😂😂

Yes Bakkies has his own video compilations. It will be worth it.

No4 jersey for Springboks is called " The Enforcer" Eben is the current one in Springboks team and before him was Bakkies Botha... that's the role of No4

One of those players Chabal lost 20 years of memory!
It’s beautiful sport but with an hard cost!

Men on a mission. Met my man Jonah Lomu off field a true gentleman and a joy to be with.

Jonah was the most physically dominant Rugby player of all time. He was 120kg (265lb) and ran a 10.8-11 flat 100m. In terms of putting Rugby on the map, Lomu came into Rugby just as it was turning professional. He would be one of if not the most known Rugby player world wide in history.

The Tuilagi brother are well know around the word for their power and aggressive play. Love them!!!

Eben no.3 has only ever had 1 red card in international rugby. He only gets physical in retaliation. He never starts a fight he just ends them. He is the South African enforcer

Love your Rugby Reactions mate. 😄

14:45 Correct. That's the fullback. In rugby, that's like the free safety and return specialist.

20:53 Bakkies was the ultimate enforcer. If he spotted raking or gouging that the ref didn't see, he would speak once to the ref, and that would be it. All tackles thereafter would be cranked up to 1000%. His tackes didn't put you down, they put you in the ground. The Springboks are brutal against foul play. ever since a nasty incident happened  way back in the early 90's, the springbok team has had zero tolerance for bad sportsmanship, on both sides. You will often see the team talk to the ref, it's not whining,  it's a warning. " If you are not able to penalise this behaviour soon, we will sort it out ourselves"

Botha was a right bastard, hard as nails. Chabal is my all time rugby legend, we had him at Sale Sharks, nothing better than watching him flying down the pitch with the ball in one hand, smiling and looking for someone to run straight through. What a sport. Check out Lomu's funeral Haka, it will have you in tears.

14:50 can't tackle or block someone without the ball - so once he kicks it, the defender has to pull out of the tackle

South African here 🇿🇦 Go Springboks 🥳🥳🥳

3:09 Never in my life I would think to come across an American who couldn't pronounce "Burger" 🍔 ... 😅😂😅. Nice reaction though

Also, the kick that Lomu did was an old-school way of avoiding being called for a knock-on (fumble). Lomu played in the early days of professional rugby before television match officials (TMOs) could help the ref on the field. So if you were skilled enough, after knocking on the ball, you could quickly make it look like you kicked it to avoid losing possession. But regathering it is extremely difficult and in professional rugby today, he wouldn't get away with it.
