I tried Upcycling an Old Lamp to VICTORIAN STYLE | Is it a Beginner Craft??

This is going to become a lifelong obsession! Keeping going with the studio reno, this week I am upcycling my battered old lamp with a new Victorian flare, to see if this really is a beginner friendly craft, or if I'm in way over my head!

The red and green look really pretty together. To me it reads as like a flower with green leaves, but when you started talking about core memories my brainrot instantly went to Invader Zim.

The result is great! I do like the "pleated" for the green fabric, and the addition of the black lace and fabric, which gave the victorian look!

Your Grinch green was making me think of arsenic green which is perfect for Victorian inspired lamp shade.

Funnily enough, I've been planning on painting a lampshade to look like stained glass. This might look even better though... but I have a plain lampshade that I've been meaning to customize somehow. Maybe that'll be my next project. Super cool!!

You're not legit if you haven't got glue and fabric threads stuck to your clothes, and/or carpets! I'm in love with all things Victorian and gothic dark academia...And velvet speaks Victorian fluently!!

The braid you used to cover the ribs of the lamp is called gimp. You can use a hand held blow dryer to get rid hot glue threads.

I LOVE the finished lamp so much!! I think a similar lamp but with each panel a different color would also be super pretty and now I really want one like that myself!

I was literally admiring this lamp in the background of your more recent videos. Nice to see it being made.
(Also I can't get hot glue burns if I stitch everything instead--)
