This live version is top five for me. It’s just such a bop!

You have to watch the live video for this song. You're welcome. ;)

The Pau "stomp dance" gets me every time. ❤

I was there for two of the three nights at Auditorio Nacional. Johnny Tuosto is the drummer for the Holy Wars who opened the show. If you've not seen the concert film they made from this concert, you owe yourself a favor. You can find it online to rent. Unfortunately, they haven't made it free to see on Youtube. Which is a real bummer.

They are so f-ing good! For me, they are almost always best live, which is the best compliment one can give to a band. Thanks for the reaction.

I recommend buying the 4K from this concert.

The harmonies in " Consume " live version are much better than the studio version , which shouldn't be the case but the producer seemed to think it was clever to suppress them , the fool !

I was at the Guadalajara show. It was amazing!

The Warning are just such a beautiful anomaly, it’s crazy. But Pau, what a powerhouse, multi-talented woman - she is simply amazing! ⚡️🤘❤️

Another fantastic reaction

Consume is the first explicit-rated song from The Warning. Mama Warning was "Not Amused". She tried to get them to change it, but the sisters stood their ground. Papa wasn't happy either but came around, agreeing it was appropriate to the theme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4CoJbOlC-s.

This song is so much fun! I love how fast the lyrics come at you (almost as fast as Paulina talks) plus anytime they unleash Pau from behind the kit is win!

This song took a little while to grow on me initially but it has hung out just outside my top 10 Warning songs for quite a while.

Fost folks who know call that musical back and forth "call and response", whether vocals, instruments, or both.
Johnny Tuosto was drumming for the opening band Holy Wars. Rudy, The Warning's manager, asked Johnny if he would be willing to take the drums so they could get Pau out front. He actually put on quite a show playing the part of a janitor while the ladies went through a costume change for Qué Más Quieres (black outfits like they wore in the music video). You should be able to rent or buy the movie from YouTube TV for just a few pounds.

It is my opinion that the reaction by 'certain long-term fans' to this song, due to its 'couple of words', was the impetus for the writing of the song Perfect Daughter.
I'm pretty certain if they heard about this, or any slightly Innocent admonishments by fans at the VIP meet and greet line, possibly multiple times on each concert, at various VIP lines, that they certainly had to roll their eyeballs and inside their own mind want to shout back at them "hey, I'm not a little girl anymore... Let me grow up.... I don't claim to be perfect... I don't want to be perfect... I want to be me"
In part of the reason for the radio play acceptability would be the offbeat hi hat, making the listener want to bop and move.
