Hi everyone,
I was in the Caribbean for 24 hours again – and all without any foreign fees!🤪
In this video, I'll take you on my minimum stay in Martinique, a beautiful French overseas territory in the middle of the Caribbean. Sun, palm trees, turquoise water – and all officially within the EU!
📅 My itinerary:
➡ Departure: April 5, 2025 (Check-in at 9:50 a.m. local time Fra)
➡ Outbound flight: approx. 9:10 hours
⬅ Return flight: approx. 8:10 hours
In Martinique, I only have a minimum stay. This means you arrive at your destination and fly back the next day. So, you have one night there.
Martinique has a population of about 360,000. The largest city is Fort de France, which is also the island's capital.
Despite its tropical location, Martinique officially belongs to France and therefore to the EU,
with the euro as its currency and the French legal system, and roaming also works normally as in the EU.
So, Caribbean flair with European standards. :)
✨ My layover in Martinique:
With a minimal stay, I really do use the time to completely relax. Unless I'm in New York. 🤪
On the day of arrival, we went out for dinner with the whole crew. It's crazy that they just pay with euros here. The next day, I tried to make the most of the short time I had, had breakfast, went for a walk on the island, and last but not least, I went to the supermarket. 24 hours, as always, went by way too quickly...
🛬 Did you know this about Martinique?
Did you know that Napoleon's first wife, Joséphine de Beauharnais, was from Martinique? She was born on the island – and her influence later reached the French imperial palace! Ironically, she's quite controversial on the island today: Her statue in Fort-de-France was even beheaded for supporting the reintroduction of slavery. So Martinique not only has beautiful beaches, but also a moving history!
🎥 Crew life up close:

See you on the next flight! ✈️
