So I and every other person I’ve ever met is just a walking Living Flesh Pit? Got it, I’m a national park now.

When I was at infant school in the 1970s in the UK we had a lice nurse come round to inspect every child's head. A lot of working class families had lice combs, particularly if you were poor.

My mum's generation growing up in the 1940s/1950s had their heads shaved and painted with something like paraffin or turpentine (I can't remember exactly what) to kill eggs.

I'm scratching my head remembering this.

One thing I've become aware of is that modern, urban humans are remarkably free of parasites.
Most critters, drinking from natural water sources, eating fresh & scavenged foods, and living wild & free, are replete with parasites... with no real way to get rid of them.

Modern humans don't realise how good we have it now.

Tapeworms...why? Why must they be a thing? I have been hospitalized because of those monsters. To this day I am absolutely terrified of eating meat that might be even the slightest bit undercooked because it seems like every time I end up in the hospital.

My friends keep defending parasites by saying that they are part of the food web, but what is actually eating (and I mean it becomes food and digested, not simply swallowed) tapeworms?! I know stuff like fleas and ticks are ate by monkeys, other mammals and so on, but what is making a proper meal out of those accursed things?!
