The EMPEROR’S Return Is Finally Happening in Warhammer 40K

For ten thousand years the Emperor has sat silent on the Golden Throne, caught somewhere between life and death. Lately the newest Warhammer 40,000 books have started pointing at something a lot of fans have wanted to believe for years, that he might actually be waking up.

This video walks through what the trailer is really saying once you read past the grim narration, how a return could happen, and why the dying Throne and the storm of the Great Rift might be quietly setting it up. We also get into the strangest part of all, that the one man who banned every form of worship may be turned into a real god by the faith of his own empire, whether he wants it or not.

We look at the other side too, the reasons it might never happen, from the piece of his soul he threw away to the chance that the Throne has become a prison he can never leave.

Not to mention the fact that if they encouraged the psykers to live and focus upon the emperor, instead of throwing them into a meat grinder for a glorified lighthouse, he could have lived through them collectively and they in turn would become his body.

Watch Titus be somehow related to him returning, or have a missing piece of him in him, Titus has been exposed to chaos curruption and was uneffected and that would help explain it.

My personal theory is the Emperor physically died that infamous day and since he is a perpetual he has been regenerating since that day, the injuries were so great that it has taken all this time, but his psyche has been alive and kicking in the Inmaterium and feeding with the psikers sacrifices offered in Terra and sometimes he is showing a bit of his power and influence in the way of "miracles". I think that eventually both his body finally regenerated and his psyche would reunite, but if that is a good thing of a bad thing in the story is up to GW to decide (or whoever is tasked with the story writing).

When i ordered him to kill, he showed mercy.
When I ordered him to thrust his hand, he held it.
I love him more than the others because he loved mankind as much as I do.
And that is why he can never be Warmaster.

My theory is, that since the warp reflect faith and belief the humans already made a god based on the Emperor. However it is a seperate being connected to the original, and not the original elevated. Basically there are two Emperors now. One sitting on the golden throne powering it, and partly existing in the warp. The other is a god made manifest through the worship of humanity. An actual deity created through the collective faith of humanity. Unlike the chaos gods however this one is in a symbiotic relationship with humanity. Since it's exitence is dependent on the faith, and worship of humans. If humanity becomes weaker, or their faith goes away, then this god lose power. So it is in his best interest to protect humanity just like the original Emperor would want it. And while the original wanted to erase religion i believe, that given the circumstances he would be willing to accept the change. Since this faith, and god is incredibly useful to humanity.

As for the Emperor returning. The great rift reducing the barrier between reality, and the immaterium affect both the Emperor, and the God-Emperor. It could make it possible for the two to heal the Emperor's body, and restore him to a pre-Horus state. And the god might already posess the Emperor's soul piece, or knows where to find it. If i were the writer, then it would be with the God already waiting to be used when it is possible to restore the Emperor. Originally planned to do so, if humanity becomes strong enough, but now with the great rift the necessary strength lowered greatly. Allowing the god to restore the original ahead of schedule.
