My Patreon members chose a landscape for this tutorial, and I was kind of like ummmmm okay. That's finetastic. Landscapes aren't my favorite. But I actually really enjoyed painting this little scene. I think the addition of the road made it feel a little more interesting, and I love the little speed limit sign (silly as that might be).

I did use a reference photo for this, which you can find on Unsplash at https://unsplash.com/photos/a-road-wi...

Oh! MY GOODNESS! I could just cry! The way you demonstrated this. You've made it so easy for me to understand that I want to try it. I just moved up North, and I took pictures of the changing leaves that now you have given me the COURAGE to paint.

I love that u paint things you’re not comfortable about just for us. You’re a very special, caring person. Never change. I love your painting

I am just so grateful for the joy and approachability you (and Lacy!) bring to art and specifically the content you work so hard to create and put out here into the world. In this case i love that you were honest that landscapes aren’t your thing. But if i had been watching without volume I would’ve never guessed that. Gorgeous. But in every case your beautiful spirit shines through in each video and again i am so grateful!

This was great, thank you. Your teaching style is very helpful. I am 77, a super newbie and I'm learning loose flowers and leaves.....might be my thing forever. I have been afraid, actually too nervous to try a landscape, simple as they can be if one wants. This was encouraging and I will try, Love your channel!!

Wow, the card edge does such a good job of the trunks and branches, it looks great.

Beautiful-- I love how you are explaining your thought process as you go and you can make some mistakes but correct them --this reminds me so much of myself when I'm teaching watercolor in front of a group of adults.

I learned the card trick from you and it is definitely one of my favorite ways to do tree trunks. It reminds me of Bob Ross doing highlights with his palette knife.
