What does everybody think about this new style? Regular Breakfast Serial episodes are definitely still happening - but I'm liking this new way of talking about some other topics. If you're new here, don't forget to say hello in the comments and subscribe!

She’s 100% entitled to write a book and tell her story. She is a victim, not to the extend of the people he killed but a victim regardless

I don’t see how BTK’s daughter profiting off her Dad is any different from any true crime podcaster profiting off random murders.

Carrie absolutely deserves to make her money. Who cares as long as she's condemning murder. So should people not related to the murder be able to make money off their biographies of these murders but the daughter of one can't? People are dense

I went to high school in Wadsworth Ohio and Jeffery Dahmers dad was the resident substitute teacher while I went there. He was my teacher in science for almost my entire freshman year while the actual teacher was out on an extended maternity leave. He used to use his full last name until so many of the students would harass and bully him sometimes even almost bringing him to tears and he’d often leave the classroom at times to collect himself. He eventually started going by Mr.D in hopes that future students wouldn’t find out but Wadsworth is such a small town he couldn’t avoid it. He was honestly my favorite teacher I’ve ever had even though he was just the schools constant substitute. He was such a patient, kind, and soft spoken man. I always felt so bad for him.

I get why BTK's daughter would write a book. I couldn't imagine life throwing that kind of curve ball and she's gotta survive. I like this format btw, good for the more somber videos.

"I taught myself how to write. I owe no one nothing." It appears so, and she was a College graduate.

It’s not like she’s glorifying him or anything. The story should be told and maybe we could figure out what makes these maniacs minds tick…

Not eating cereal? I dunno if i can trust it

i think her writing a book is no less wrong than creators who talk about serial killers and sell merch and collect ad money

Honestly let that lady get her bag, she clearly has had a hard life because of her father.

Kerri is a person I think highly of. She has gone above and beyond to help law enforcement try and close more cases. She is definitely a victim, she revealed he did some things to her that she recently revealed.

@codykeane6107 10 months ago

She's been through insane trauma, I doubt her starting to talk about it was only about money. She's very clear that's he's a horrible person not condoning or defending what he did in anyway. She has to deal with the fact her family has completely blown up, her own father sexually assaulted her and people look down on her for who she is related to. I think she's absolutely right, her family are victims of his too.

Coming from a family who had a person IN my family who did horrible things right under our noses... I think her book gives a lot of insight on being the oblivious family member. The feeling of deep regret of not being able to see something, or feeling like youre a fool for 'falling for it' for so long is a real thing that I feel myself. Like how can my family member get away with doing such things for so long and NONE of us know about it? There has to be a word other than 'victim' and other than 'survivors guilt' to properly place that feeling youre left with when someone close to you does something so horrific. And you find out that on several occasions you could have stopped it, or that you may have seen red flags that looked green at the time. Im often left awake at night wondering "what if" like what if I had gone in the other room, what if I had caught my family member in the act?
These thoughts leave you haunted. And it leaves you wracking your brain trying to put timelines together, to see if maybe you noticed anything along the way. It makes you feel stupid for being so naive to the situation.
I dont think the right word is 'victim' or 'survivors guilt' but there has to be a term for that specific feeling.

My grandmother's cousin is Karla Homolka (Ken and Barbie killers) it was talked about openly. I remember hearing stories when I was 6yrs old. It must depend on the family

@danielponder690 11 months ago

For Dahmer it’s probably like that weird scene in the Simpsons where Marge says they will never speak of an uncle in one episode

@MsTeo91 11 months ago

I think Carrie is well within her rights to profit off her Dad’s name because, she’s sharing her own experiences it’s her story, her truth also after watching the Netflix documentary she did I feel for her even more, Carrie sharing her story could also be part of her healing process and also help other victims of trauma

In a sense, the most fascinating thing about this case is Ken Landwehr and his pursuit and eventual capture of BTK and the way someone as humble as Landwehr was able to use the ego of someone as arrogant as BTK to eventually catch him. The New York Times obituary of Landwehr mentions that although he tried to give the FBI credit for the plan to draw BTK out by playing to his ego, the FBI revealed that it was actually Landwehr's idea. It was interesting to me, too, how, as I recall, BTK's family mentioned how compassionate Landwehr was towards them.

Just an interesting figure all around.

I’ve always found Kerri interesting… yeah, she’s weird. But what do people expect? There’s also the Happy Face Klr’s daughter, I’m surprised you didn’t bring her up.
