I have a 77 laminate and have always had problems with screws coming loose. I contacted Hull Cartridge and they recommend checking them before every use. I've found that not doing so will throw the zero off pretty quickly. Having said that , I fitted some small star washers under the screws and that seems to have helped.
My HW95 stock screws kept working loose ( don’t use lock tite; i used a small amount of paint on the screw thread and let it dry after tightened down. They haven’t come loose since. I heard if you use ( locktite ) you cannot remove the screws without damaging the stock. Lovely guns bro.
I've got the 99s. I've also got a pot of clumped pellets shot from it. My 99s set has a barrel weight fitted, so the iron sights have been removed. I reckon the barrel weight has made a definite difference. My regrets are that I haven't got a the latest 98 with the adjustable cheek piece.
Hi Colin, loctite 243 (blue) is the correct product to use, only use enough to cover 2/3 threads all the way round. Do not use the red one for this aplication.
See below description from loctite. Loctite threadlockers are primarily designed to prevent fasteners from leaking or loosening from vibration. The difference between red and blue threadlocker is a matter of strength and removability. Loctite threadlocker blue is designed to easily be replaceable with common tools, where as red is a more permanent fix.
