Currently auditioning the A8 now. It has great clarity, but lacks body. Honestly, reminds me of the scene in The Matrix where Cypher is eating a steak.

Good review

Spot on review. I had the Bluesound Icon in my system for a while and was happy with it. Then I saw the DMP8 reviews and was intrigued. Always looking for better aren’t we?  And I heard all the differences you describe. I use it connected straight into my amp and take advantage of the stepped volume control.  Thank you for your honest and straightforward opinions. I am a subscriber and look forward to your future reviews. Good luck growing the channel

Really love my A8!  Got the A6 Master Edition, found it to be achingly bright, and returned it.  Got the A8 and I will tell you, it truly is a velvety sound.  You can listen for hours and hours with zero fatigue.  However.... I found that I missed some visceral punch in the treble.  I wasn't getting goose bumps at those emotional moments in my treasured songs. Went down the rabbit hole and eventually purchased a Denafrips Pontus 15th for my DAC.  I go USB out of the A8 to the Pontus and XLR out of the Pontus.  It is a BRILLIANT combination and if my Pontus dies, I can still use my A8 as streamer/DAC.  I get deeper bass, more life in the lower mids, and rich emotion in the vocals and guitar.  And no listening fatique.  Really fun.

Love my A8❤❤

If eversolo partnered up with Dirac, it would be perfect 👌🏽

Awesome review…Thank you. Is it Roon Ready?

Thanks for the video and review.  I tried the Eversolo A6 and then the A8.  Beautiful equipment.  So many settings.  I upgraded from a Bluesound Node N130 and both sounded much better.  The A8 sounded the best.  Unfortunately I had an issue with them staying connected to my wi-fi so I returned them.  I went with a used Innuos MK3 streamer feeding a Holo Audio Cyan 2 DAC.  The Innuos has a CD ripper with 1TB of storage.  It sounds great.  I didn’t need a preamp just a streamer so the Innuos fits my needs.  No connection issues.  Be well and rock on.

The DMP-A8 is a solid piece of gear. I’ve been enjoying mine for over a year now. It’s an excellent digital hub for my system.

The AKM4499 DAC implementation in the A8 is really good.

Grüße aus 🇩🇪 🖖🏽

I ordered the dmp-a8 because all the good reviews... mine had problems with qobuz and connectivity.. used it 10 days  switched it with my atoll sm120 couple of times the last one has a more analog sound... The combination Yamaha as2200 tannoy d700 and the jbl l100 black edition

Great video. However eversolo a6 master edition may be a better compensation.

I think this is right unless you account for the full Dirac suite that's available on the Icon. That one feature makes up for the shortcomings of the Bluesound, especially for someone who isn't taking advantage of the A8 R2R volume attenuation.

You provided some addittional insight regarding the i2s that lets me know I was very lucky to find one used for about 40% off with just some minor scuffs on the top. As you know i2s is still rare but very nice to have and at this price I can just use it as a streamer transport if I prefer i2s to my Gustard r26. I also have an ifi Neo with i2s and the renderer in the r26 sucks  (dropouts)  so I needed a streamer for it in a second system and your review was only one to point out the excellent buffering and stability so sounds like I made a good choice. Thank you for your technical insight!

I'm watching this because my Bluesound Vault died after just 4 years.  All that time ripping my cds to it's internal hdd wasted.  Even the copies I asked to be ripped to a connected external ssd apparently aren't there as I hadn't run some export function.  Got mp3s apparently on it though - hidden by their proprietary formats.  I'll never go near Bluesound again.  And BluOS sucked.  Thanks for this review of the Eversolo.

Looking at getting one of these units too - Came to hear more opinions about it. Thanks for the feedback.

Hi nice review, I’m very aware it’s a bit late/ old a few months, you know these reviews are all good,  regardless of what its capabilities are what do you do in the UNIT needs service?  believe me at one point it will need service., I understand it was more of a performance review, but these are issues that should also be talked about mentioned or discussed, pure HIFI, beautifully built, etc., etc. but when it breaks, you got a paper waiter a boat anchor, especially if it’s out of warranty it’s not the most expensive Audio device have ever seen around, but that’s a nice piece of change to put out there and then go out on a line worrying about if it don’t turn on it doesn’t work properly now what are you doing? I don’t wanna hear about the warranty here work because it stinks. It’s nonexistent. You might want to think about that. The next time you review yourself it’s all good just a thought, regardless of the reviews, my guys are getting rid of them. yeah, never don’t know anybody huh, idk 🤷‍♂️ best of luck to you, that’s a disgrace man, I will give credit if you are fortunate enough to live in the EU. Their government has a bit of common sense. They must guarantee that unit for two years where they are prohibited from selling it in the country. It seems like in a good old USA, you can bring anything in here and sell it and nobody cares unbelievable, I seem a little aggravated. I guess you could say that I was a former owner of A8, when I realized what was transpiring I moved it along and felt bad for doing so I don’t like pushing problems on the next guy. I have some morals not many but a few. It’s a damm shame Grab the dollar and get  out🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🤡 clowns

Eversolo A8 is  the best  Streaming DAC for the money  , a good  competitors  cost  double   !!

The DMP A8 is a terrific streamer and, to my ears, sounds significantly better than the Bluesound. What's more, the HI Res with Apple is a game changer that no other device can match. For 2,000 eur it's a top-of-the-line streamer and lot better as the dmp a6!  I use it with Marantz 30 and it’s great.

No sub out is a deal breaker for me.
