Love this University. A note on the lounge chairs- it’s something from the Victorian era and before, women wore very heavy garments with a lot layers and sometimes even just got overheated. Many bathrooms or parlors where women could undress would have the extra lounge seating. I believe the sims team was trying to make it feel older to go with Veronaville

Academie Le Tour is definitely where I would go if I were a Sim. The campus culture is way more in line with what I liked about my real-life alma mater. Not much of a party school, no Greek Houses, very much a place for humanities-nerd Knowledge Sims. I'd feel very at home hanging out with Delilah O'Feefe and Emily Lee.

Press L to change to day / night time. Evening will turn on and show the lighting too! Perfect for checking the brightness / visibility at nighg

When he's so enamored with the build that he doesn't notice the wall and floor tiles they forgot to recolor in the boutiques 😂

I laughed every time Rekowscki found a lounge chair 😂

I love upgrading the dorms to nicer beds, couches, finishes. It doesn't make it any more expensive for the sims. I fixed up Lam with en suite bathrooms for all six rooms, added a communal computer area, and fixed that stair issue in the back.

King's music hall should've been a HARD 10 just for all the effort they put into this; making it an interactive lot for your liberal art major sims. It's like the signature landmark for Academie since it really captures the Ivy league vibe and you can tell the developers put their hearts into this one by how dynamic it feels and authentic with what they're trying to go for. It completely fulfills the purpose of the sub neighborhood by at least giving it something iconic to remember it by.

22:15 I see that a lot in cities, where the front of the building is fully finished with a facade but the sides and back are rawer.

12:12 "next to these big ugly ones" is how I remember where all of my favorite items are

in the sims 2 you can build your own Dorms  by using the Lotzoning Cheat

The gym is actually really annoying when you play the game: there are 2 staircases one on top of the other and both can only be used by one sim at a time which leads to a bunch of dormies (and probably your own sim too) standing on the sidewalk and moaning about not be able to reach the treadmills as the first staircase is currently being used by a cafeteria chef. And when the chef is on the second floor, one of the dormies starts climbing the first set of stairs leaving the others to complain. But as the treadmills are on the THIRD floor, you're going to listen to the complaints for about 3 minutes straight.

As for Le Tour Student Center - what you identified as the front of the building is actually its side! The front has a tiny white door under ugly grey columns. The devs clearly made a huuuge mistake here and started building the shell from the wrong side. And I also hate that huge and empty courtyard. It takes sims ages to cross it, so I would probably give this build even less than a 3.

oh thank goodness for this video, I needed it after today's devastating news

Upscale department stores often have sitting areas in the women's rooms. I haven't seen a chaise long in a single seater before, but often there will be a whole conversational set in the Nordies' ladies' room. It's great if you get tired while shopping, need to nurse a baby, or are having a bad time and need some space. It's like an anteroom before the stalls and the sinks, usually.

Maybe the lounge it to feint on after an epic dump.
Or for period cramps but we don't have those in the sims.
Or to stage an intervention somewhere private.

My favorite sims 2 uni

I love those first three dorms. The first one is my favorite. I like to have parties on the roof of the other two.

The student center isy favorite lot to play in because there's everything you need for your Sims to hang out for hours.

This is definitely the most beautiful of all the universities. Can't wait to see the amphitheater rating!

My theory as to why most buildings here are looking much better than home neighborhoods is because the home neighborhoods are designed intentionally to make you want to make money, redesign, and refurnish. University neighborhoods are simply a temporary housing, even the rental home ones. The bare bones are just.. bare, not necessarily migraine inducing ugly like in home neighborhoods

Ohhh I want to do a makeover for those first two dorm buildings so bad… seem very easy to renovate for my gameplay

The chairs in the bathrooms kill me. Just make an anteroom with the seating and the comfort, and put the poopers in another space.

Ah yes I'm kinda tired from all the shopping I'm gonna go rest on the ladies' room lounge chair and enjoy some toilet cleaner aroma☺️
