⏺️ 0:00: Intro, and Ejection #1 versus the Montreal Expos at Olympic Stadium in Montreal as a bench coach before he became a manager. ⤵️
⏺️ 0:14: Ejection #2 versus the Milwaukee Brewers at PNC Park in Pittsburgh (Part 1) ➡️ In the bottom of the 7th inning & with the game tied 4-4; Lloyd McClendon (Probably in his first year managing the Pittsburgh Pirates); decides to really get his money’s worth when he takes first base with him after getting tossed (0:28-0:29-0:30); because he believed that the runner was safe not out. And, let's just say that first base umpire, the-late Rick Reed, wasn’t amused at all (0:47); of being shown up. ⤵️
⏺️ 0:54: Ejection #3 versus the San Diego Padres at the old Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, CA ➡️ Let’s just say that Pittsburgh Pirates Manager Lloyd McClendon wasn’t happy about the strike zone. So, he decides to get in the face of home plate umpire, Mark Barron, in the top of the 9th inning down 6-5 (1:10); gets officially ejected (1:11); and decides to throw out the umpire (Barron); at the same time while getting his money’s worth in the process. Also, a flashback of taking the first base bag after being tossed from the previous season before (1:16). ⤵️
⏺️ 1:32: Ejection #4 versus NL Central Rival Chicago Cubs at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, PA (Part 1) ➡️ Already down 9-8 in the bottom of the 9th inning, Jason Kendall (Pittsburgh Pirates Catcher); who wasn’t happy earlier about a questionable missed tag at home plate (1:44); let’s just say that he wasn’t happy about a questionable strike 2 call & then grounds out. But, he wasn’t done. While he was heading back to the dugout, Mr. Kendall had some harsh words at the home plate umpire, Matt Hollowell (2:10); he then get tossed (2:13); and decides to get his money’s worth (2:15); saying basically as the late-legendary MLB broadcaster, Vin Scully, said it best: “That’s blinking fertilizer”, to that same umpire’s face. However, you know that Lloyd McClendon (Pittsburgh Pirates’ Manager); wasn’t going to miss a getting a piece of that same umpire (Hollowell); as well. And, guess what happens (2:21); he gets tossed. ⤵️
⏺️ 2:26: Ejection #5 versus the Los Angeles of Anaheim at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA ➡️ Well, well. Lloyd McClendon (Pittsburgh Pirates’ Manager); and the home plate umpire, the-late Rick Reed, are going at it again (2:29). Basically, both of them went at it in a foul mouth face-to-face tirade (2:33-2:34-2:35-2:36-2:37); after getting tossed (off camera). The reason for this is unknown. ⤵️
⏺️ 2:43: Ejection #6 versus the St. Louis Cardinals at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, PA (Part 1) ➡️ Another classic face to face confrontation for Lloyd McClendon (Pittsburgh Pirates’ Manager); with the home plate umpire, Tim Tschida (2:57); after getting tossed for questioning balls, and strikes. ⤵️
⏺️ 3:09: Ejection #7 versus the Arizona Diamondbacks at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, PA ➡️ So, with a 6 game losing streak to the D-Backs, and already down 1-0; it wasn’t gonna get better for the Pirates. Well, after Kenny Lofton was wrongly called out at first base (3:17; 3:25-3:26); Pittsburgh Pirates Manager Lloyd McClendon decides that he had enough of the first base umpire, Charlie Reliford, and gets tossed (3:31); as well as goes off on the same umpire (Reliford ➡️ 3:33); as well. Plus, the classic taking of first base (3:41). ⤵️
⏺️ 3:48: Ejection #8 versus NL Central Rival Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL (Part 2) ➡️ Oh dear, after a missed tag called at a first base (3:56; 4:10); which then lead to a 3 run home run (4:13); Pittsburgh Pirates Manager Lloyd McClendon goes berserk at the umpires (4:21); and gets tossed. ⤵️
⏺️ 4:29: Ejection #9 versus the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park in Milwaukee, WI (Part 2) ➡️ Already up 8-6 in extra innings, thinking that the 3rd base umpire missed a checked swing call which led to a base hit, Pittsburgh Pirates’ Manager Lloyd McClendon gets tossed off camera, but decides to go off at that same umpire (4:33); then kicks dirt at 3rd base (4:38); just for good measure. ⤵️
⏺️ 4:47: Ejection #10 versus NL Central Rival St. Louis Cardinals at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, PA (Part 2) ➡️ Another classic full temper tantrum from Pittsburgh Pirates’ Manager Lloyd McClendon with the following timestamps:
▶️ 4:48: The questionable call (4:49). ⤵️
▶️ 4:52: Getting in the home plate umpire’s [the-late Eric Cooper]; face with a bunch of foul-mouthed language (4:53-4:54-4:55). ⤵️
▶️ 4:56: Hands raised saying, "Why?” ⤵️
▶️ 4:57: The Hat Toss. ⤵️
▶️ 4:58: Basically telling crew chief, Mike Riley, "You're brutal!" (4:59-5:00). ⤵️
▶️ 5:01: ((Throwing down his sunglasses & wants to give more foul-mouthed grievances with the crew chief [Riley] (still)). ⤵️
▶️ 5:02: Oh, last but not least (Leaves off camera); all of this because he (McClendon); believed the home plate umpire (Cooper); probably missed a questionable strike call via the bunt type. ⤵️
⏹️ In other words, he really got his money’s worth about 10 times with both the home plate umpire & the crew chief. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
⏺️ 5:06: Ejection #11 versus the Chicago Cubs (Part 3) - Basically, this was a, “hit by pitch piñata”, series between the NL Central Division rivals’. It started at 5:06 which led to some trash talk between Carlos Zambrano (Chicgo Cubs' pitcher); and Craig Wilson (the Pittsburgh Pirates' player that got hit); and the benches clearing at 5:14; while both bullpens slowly clearing out at 5:19. However, the hit by pitch (HBP); drama wasn’t done here. Another Pirates' hit batter at 5:25; plus a Sportscenter TV graphic of showing how many players got a HBP on each side at 5:30. And, oh just for last measure, in the top of the 9th inning at 5:36; the last HBP to Chicago Cubs’ Todd Walker at 5:39; caused the home plate umpire, Jack Samuels, to finally say enough is enough, officially ejecting relief pitcher Mike Johnston of the Pirates at 5:40; which then led to then-Pittsburgh Pirates Manager Lloyd McClendon, and the same umpire (Samuels); going face to face in a foul mouth tirade at 5:43; because he got tossed to.
⏺️ 5:56: Ejection #12 versus the St. Louis Cardinals (Part 3) - Another day, but an almost missed hit by pitch by a visiting pitcher. It happens in the top of the 9th inning at 5:59 down 4-2; which then cause some foul mouth chirping from Jason Kendall (Pittsburgh Pirates Catcher); to the St. Louis Cardinals dugout. And, Tony La Russa (the St. Louis Cardinals Manager at the time); wasn’t happy about it. So, he probably told the Pirates Catcher to shut up which made Lloyd McClendon (the Pittsburgh Pirates Manager at the time); to defend his player, which he has the right to at 6:10; 6:11; 6:12; 6:13; 6:14; and 6:15. It eventually lead to both managers getting in each other faces at 6:16; 6:17; 6:18; 6:19; 6:20; 6:21; 6:22; and 6:23 (with both benches & bullpens clearing); and engaging in a foul mouth tirade seeing who the, "better manager," is here. But, in the end, both managers' got tossed off camera.
⏺️ 6:32: Ejection #13 versus the Oakland A’s - Yikes! Another, “hit by pitch piñata”, this time in inter-league play. Already 9-6 in the top of the 8th inning, one Pirates player get hit in the ear flap at 6:35; which then lead to an A’s player getting hit in the bottom of the 8th inning at 6:42 with the score now 10-6. So, the home plate umpire, Kerwin Danley, issued warnings at 6:44. But, it wasn’t the first time that this happened with a little montage of what happened in the previous game at 6:50. Well, guess what? Another almost close hit by pitch at 7:04 to another A’s hitter officially end the day for the Pirates reliever & then-Manager Lloyd McClendon at 7:05; despite Lloyd’s best attempts to say it wasn’t intentional. And, with that, the conclusion of the video.
