People have to remember that this was not too long after the Ron Artest "Malace at the Palace" mele. Artest ended up being suspended for the rest of the season WITHOUT PAY in the aftermath. I'm sure as much as Sheffield wanted to beat the brakes off that fan, he wasn't tryna potentially lose millions as a result of it 🤣

Back when the Red Sox/Yankees rivalry was very intense and exciting.

Drunk big mouths in
Every park.

Clip feels like a lifetime ago, no smartphones and an actual frenzied crowd….then I saw LeBron with 27 18 and 7, and is still playing!

Those two fans are lucky this wasn't an nba game 😂

I love how Joe backed up his player.

listen to the noise at that stadium

I was at this game. I was in the bleachers near conigliaro’s corner. I remember the run scored. Then there was screaming and security running to that area.

I didn’t see it at the time. I didn’t see the footage until after I got home and watched the highlights.

I think the guy who swiped Sheffield was Chris House.

A dorchester guy.

His season tickets were revoked shortly after that game.

Been looking for this for years

So much energy, no cell phonez.

Rest in Peace, RemDawg. #2 ⚾️💪🏽💯

That one fan in the red jacket kinda looks like bill bellichick

I was at this game, first base side. No one knew what happened, they didn't even show a replay on the jumbo tron. Using my mid 2000's cell phone, I got through to my dad, who was watching the game and told me. I then explained to the entire section.

Yankees-Red Sox rivalry is always brutal

Tough guy in the stands. b

00:08 The only swinging motion that I saw came from the guy in the blue sweater /jacket with the faded Red Sox hat right next to the guy in the red

Wow, first time seeing this, what?!!😧😧

Im a big Yankees fan.
I watched many games in Fenway.
Watch the game and
Root for your team.

This happened in 2005 - just a few months removed from Malice at the Palace, so it's understandable that a player would be on such high alert then.

It does not look like the fan tried to do anything malicious, but still - Shef didn't know that, so I don't totally blame him for not being happy.

Maybe security who saw the tapes thought the same, which explains why the guy was ejected, but not arrested.

Red Sox and Yankees was so turnt up 03-05 lol 😂
