The Furious REACTION | Syntell & Rekkai (Krimson Kommentary)
Syntell and Rekkai finally watch The Furious — the 2025 martial arts film from director Kenji Tanigaki. Xie Miao plays Wang Wei, a quiet Bangkok tradesman who barely speaks and causes no problems until somebody takes his daughter. Joe Taslim is Navin, a journalist with his own score to settle. Together they work through a child trafficking operation with a lot of moving parts and every single one of them is armed.
The movie earns every fight. Wang Wei moves with open-hand kung fu, shoulder technique, and constant rolling. Tak works with Pencak Silat and a bow the size of a small tree. The enforcer is a bullet sponge with better instincts than he has any right to have. When the final boss clears out a boardroom full of people in under thirty seconds, you did not see it coming. And the closer — five fighters, five completely different styles, all in the same room at the same time — is the kind of scene that makes you pause the conversation just to ask what you just saw.
Post-reaction: Syntell says the police precinct finale might be the best closing fight sequence he's ever seen. Rekkai compares it directly to The Raid. Both break down why Yayan Ruhian is still untouchable at nearly 60 years old (answer: Pencak Silat, and please do not give him a weapon), what makes Xie Miao's technique genuinely interesting to analyze, and why the final boss lands so hard when you thought you had him figured out. Wang Wei's daughter doesn't wait to be saved — she picks up a pipe. Both hosts: 10 out of 10.
