Ok, I'll add a real life war story here since I've been inspired.     During Desert Storm, all of Bravo Company, 23rd Engineer's (Third Armored Division) AVLBs dropped their bridges and mounted two Mine Clearing Line Charge (Mic-Lic's) launchers on them.     I had the only bridge.     The bridge we carried was 63 feet long and folded onto the back.     It overhung the rear about ten feet.     We had stopped during the initial assault into Iraq and had a quick moment to check over the tank and it's tracks.     All Ok.... We were going to be there about twenty more minutes, so I thought I would squeeze it a bathroom break (no pun intended).     Around the back of the tank, I looked up into the bridge to see where the hydraulic cylinder was.     That is what I would sit on for privacy.     I dug a trench like hole beneath then climbed up on the bridge.      I then went down into the middle on the bridge and sat on the big cylinder with my backside hanging off.    As I was doing the business, I heard two voices approaching.      It was two young officers.     Just as I "released" something, I was watching through the bridge below and the officers just stepped over my little hole as the released item narrowly missed one of their shoulders.      Funniest thing I ever saw and without question the most perfect timing.     My Tank Commander asked what happened and I told him.    We both had a laugh about it, and it was a story passed around for some time after the war.     Cheers boys!

Apparently Commander Land Forces UK has sent a directive to all local unit training teams that these videos be utilised at all levels within the training cycle to show soldiers how military equipment can actually be worked on without moaning, fighting, sitting around, taking the piss,  moaning or wanking. Well done chaps!

Now drive the bridge layer across the bridge, turn around, pick up the bridge from the other side...

Hi mate, the strange brackets on the back are for camnet spreaders, carries a few on each one. The crappy jacks only go so high on the back saddle, you need to use the pins to jack it up so high, then reset. A royal pain in the butt😅 Each bridge has a different setting, the saddle you have is for no10,11 and 12 bridges. The one you have is a No9.

Excellent work Ted. A true leader knows when to take a step back and let his team shine.
You're not there to babysit them, or be one of the lads, you're basically the wind beneath your teams wings that elevates them to a higher level and helps them achieve what they never though was possible.

These things always make me think of Thunderbirds from when I was a kid .

Take a roll of electrical tape and put it on the punch so when you miss the punch with the hammer you hit the roll and it protects you hand.

Most probably the most interesting video I’ve seen to date. I wish my dad was with me to see your projects. It was difficult to get him to even talk about his time across France and Germany and Poland. He wanted us children to have a better life without the realities of the military activity. I admire the effort these guys go to achieve absolutely nothing.

Spent many hours drove these during my time as an Armoured farmer with 32 Armed Engr Regt in Germany and Canada. Great driving these through the small villages and hoping you missed the houses. It would be good to see you with more bridges and trying some combination bridging.
