Is there anyone else who thinks a 52 episode season seems perfectly reasonable?

I don’t think Anne was manipulative. She didn’t do anything different than what any man would have done with his wife’s money at that time. No one in her class in her time would have thought she was being manipulative. We do things differently now so you can’t judge the things she did against the way we do things now. 🙂

As I was watching this interview, it occurred to me about half way through that it is the most in depth of all the interviews I have seen, touching on so many aspects of Anne Lister's life,  the diaries, and Anne's personality all seen through Anne Choma's perspective. While constantly weaving Anne Choma's own personal journey,  we learn the history of the transcriptions, the  personalities, the authors,  the series, the creative processes, the actors, all of it leading right back to Anne Lister as the connecting thread....it is brilliant, Pat and Anne. A tapestry for all of us woven in front of our eyes. Thank you so much!

What a fantastic interview! Thank you, Pat and Anne! I have had some issues with how AL is talked about as well, even by the brilliant and awesome HW. I couldn't help but feel like certain things were being misunderstood and misinterpreted, so it was particularly wonderful to hear Anne talk about those very things. I feel incredibly honored to be one of those codebreakers working on the transcription project, I can't imagine trying to do it off of blurry copies. My gratitude runs deep and eternal to all of these women who kept the dream alive for decades and finally brought Anne Lister to life for all of us!💜

Bottom-line, Anne Lister left us all an amazing autobiography. Grateful to all the people who took on decoding Lister's diaries in a most professional and skillful way. Forever grateful to Anne Lister and her sharing of her rich existence.

What a wonderful interview With Pat  and Anne Choma....So interesting..being such a big fan of Gentleman Jack and Anne Lister's..life..yes she really is our icon and hero for us gay women...Thank you so much Pat👍❤

Thank you for this. I had the same experience with discovering Anne Lister and my own sexuality. It was an amazing interview because of all the lenses you both discussed and the personal connections and experiences you brought, I felt many similar things. I appreciate all of your time that you put into this. This story of a brilliant woman, and the growing Community behind her, for woman strengths, lgbtq importance, in the lesbian community I appreciate all of this. This has definitely changed my life, and I am sure, more women to come. This community is definitely a mecca from the past and a supportive and loving present.

Anne Lister's courage to live her life so authentically and brilliantly is an inspiration to hundreds of thousands of Lesbians. We are so fortunate to have Anne Choma's research and the tie-in to #GentlemanJack. If we take off the patriarchal and homophobic  glasses that we have been conditioned to view women through, we can see Anne as the kind, brilliant woman she was. If a man, or other women of the time, behaved as Anne, and they did, we wouldn't bat an eye! It's best to be open-minded to the challenges Anne experienced at the time. Anne Lister is to be celebrated for the inspiration she was and is!

Anne Choma is a beautiful person. Her fondness for and level of knowledge about Anne Lister and her times shine throughout this interview. I admire her careful answers, and note that she has great respect for the person of AL

There should be AL pilgrimages around the world!!!

What a truly wonderful hour and twenty minutes . Pat, you have created a wonderful community here  and are interviewing the best guests.

I hope we get to see Anne when the second series is due for broadcast. What a charming, clever and interesting lady.

Thank you everyone at ALBW Live. 🥰

Anne your voice is so soothing, I could listen to you whole day...

This interview was fantastic, thanks so much to both of you! My question was the first one asked in the Q&A and I wanted to let everyone know that in the shooting script for Episode 5, page 9, there is a scene in a Lecture Theater in Paris in March 1829 of 38 year old Anne grabbing Georges Cuvier at the end of a lecture and rather frantically asks if she can attend, saying she will sit in the back. She will be quiet. She will not ask any questions. etc. The script describes Anne as particularly disheveled and unladylike and intense. This is the scene that I want so much to see if they did shoot it. I did ask this same question when SW was on, but it was never asked so I thought I would take a shot with AC.

What a wonderful interview.. So many things to look forward to for season 2.Thank you Pat and  Anne👍👍

I'm so glad to hear Anne talk (49:00) about the magic of being on the hilltop for the climactic reunion scene!

At last! Thank you Anne. A true and full biography of this amazing woman. As far as l know no other piece has explained her so clearly and true. And what a wonderful gift of AL'S diary from the fabulous Sally Wainwright.

Thank you this was brilliant!

Thank you for such an informative, intelligent, and entertaining presentation on a topic dear to me, to my community, and for humanity. ❤

I need to read the other books of diaries
No priest but love and
