Nobody on the planet would've predicted Cody's career going the way it did after watching this fight. Its almost like he sold his soul for one perfect fight. He made Dominic look like an amateur who had no place in there with him which had NEVER been done before, not even close

if Cody fought this well every fight he'd be one of the greatest of all time

Cody was emotional AF in the build up to this fight it looked like Dominic was deep inside his head, and then he fought the best fight of his life, calm, measured and confident.

Dominick has some of the quickest knockdown recovery i have seen

Cody’s footwork and slips in this are incredible the 23:18 mark is just incredible along with that his taunting actually effects Cruz and looks like it just crushes his spirit

This Cody is the reason why I lost money on him again TJ twice

Cody on this night is the best bantamweight I've ever seen. If he can tame the mad dog inside, he has the skills&potential to become one of the best lighter weight fighters we've seen.

I wonder if John McCarthy smelt like cigarettes and booze during this fight

This is my top 5 performances from a challenger ever. To go in and do that to the BW goat is crazy.

The way Cody dismantled Cruz is still the most impressive technical display I've seen in UFC history. It was like he'd learned every trick in Dominic's playbook and used each and every one against him.

The last ever UFC card that Mike Goldberg commentated on 😥

Best Cody I've ever seen. Everything came together almost perfectly for him in this fight.
The timing, footwork, head movement were all impeccable.
The slips, duck and roll, counter-punching... Everything was working.
Would have been a perfect fight if he didn't start getting tired at the end of the 2nd.
It's crazy that he's already 28. I doubt he'll ever reach this level again.

This was one of the most amazing title fight I ever saw. Cody was perfect… it’s weird how his career has been in a downward trajectory ever since this…

This was a masterclass, just wanna see Cody back to this

The headbutt clearly didn’t cause the cut on Cruz.Garbrant head hit like the top of cruz’s head

Anyone else struggling to see how that clash of heads (that hit the back of Cruz's head) caused a cut on his eyebrow?

Edit: I reckon it was the head kick at 14:38

Utter domination. Although he couldn't finish him, it was a complete dismantling of Cruz entire skillset. Amazing fight.

This is one fight I always come back to watch, love Garbrandt’s style in this fight. His movement/footwork was incredible, was as though at times Cruz couldn’t touch him.
