Congrats brother. I was an associate pastor a year ago and converted. Our family was confirmed in August. Praying for you.

I'm baptized orthodox recently converted and my wife has not and I pray for her everyday and I've never told her once that I pray for her and it has worked like a charm I think she is almost there

The day we get Jay Dyer as a guest will be so beautifully awkward.

Ben, I am a seminarian at ROCOR, and I am so encouraged by how solid you are already in understanding the faith. I think it comes from your studying of the Church Fathers and the ecumenical councils earnestly. This firm foundation will preserve you against the waves of modernism that have gripped many in the Church.

The odd spiritual warfare thing is so true! When my husband and I set our date to be chrismated and have our 3 kids baptized into the Orthodox Church it felt like everything was against us. So many weird things happened where I was starting to wonder if we would even make it to the church that day. 2 days before our baptism our kids caught a terrible stomach flu and it was being passed through one kid at a time, someone hacked into our bank card and credit cards and all of our money was frozen with no way to get access to anything, we ended up having to pack up and move across country due to military orders just days after the chrismation. It was intense but we made it. Glory to God ☦️

So happy for you man, keep going!!!

This is great. Learn the faith. At some point the more important effort will become living the faith in the Church.

JAY DYER WHEN

Dr.DPH!! Excellent guest 🙏☦️

“Without presups and rational evidence for Christ’s resurrection, how would orthodox defend it?” Simple. The lives of the saints.

It'd be interesting to have a video on Theosis and essence/energy distinction. It is something that distinguishes Orthodoxy from western theology and it was a recurrent subject on this video.

The gunpoint advice question - Be patient and have humility.

When I became a catchment I had two cars and two motorcycles. About halfway through my car and both of my motorcycles broke down in one week. And my toilet started leaking like crazy then the brakes started grinding on my backup vehicle.  Like I said all in one week. Actually, it was less than a week. Started Sunday and the last was Wednesday.

It's weird too. The problems were very random that shouldn't be random. A head gasket, a rod knock, an blown engine. All had oil and coolant like they should.

Super happy for you and your conversion! Love following along and you’ve had some awesome guests so far! My husband and I are becoming catechumens on this Sunday. I find it interesting how a lot of people have trouble getting their wives on board. I came across Orthodoxy first and was trying to get my husband to see what I saw. After going to two services before Holy Week and then back to our Baptist church on Easter, he said “this is our last Easter as Protestants”. The biggest thing for him that he admitted is that he had a Western bias and that orthodoxy seemed foreign- and rightly so! But if anyone is reading this, take this into consideration. Christianity came from the East- not the west. I was tired of having a bare minimum Christianity. I felt like I was dead and dying in our Baptist church. May God bless you in your journey Ben and I know we all look forward to see what else comes from your channel!

Great stream. Love Dr. DPH

people id suggest having on the channel:
- Perry Robinson (one of the most knowledgeable Orthodox online, been doing this for 20+ years engaging with the best of the protestants, particularly good on refuting sola fide in fathers, and reformed theology, and proving apostolic succession and proper Christology
- Fr John Behr, one of the best theologians in the world and probably THE best patristic scholar (early ante-nicene fathers in particular) Very original view on certain things and expert on Johns gospel.
- Fr Stephen De Young, great for biblical scholarship and general Orthodox discussions involving philosophy and theology
- Prof Nathan Jacobs, expert in philosophy, art, Orthodox patristics, understanding east vs west differences and how this played out in history. An amazing teacher and speaker

I feel these figures will be very helpful for both you and your audience and highly recommend them all!
