Our secret plan to catch my first river carp
The Magic of Fishing
19,124 views
It's late summer and with couple of flexible weeks at my disposal, I set out to catch my first carp from running water. To do this, I teamed up with my mate, Neil Wayte, an experienced specimen hunter and author of a book called River Carping.
We used local knowledge and friendly tip-offs to target an area of the local River Wey, devising a secret plan to prebait our chosen spots with quality feed over many days. The idea was to try and hold any passing carp and get them accustomed to our bait as an attractive new food source in the many miles of river and canal system across Surrey.
Only once this time-consuming but enjoyable campaign was complete, did we return with our rods, reels and tackle - excited to see if all that effort would pay off. Watch on to see what happened next!
It's another chilled release from The Magic of Fishing, so sit back, relax and enjoy.

Congrats on the lovely common, commiserations on the one that got away, but you know they are in there and it's only a matter of time, before you strike lucky again!
Thanks again for sharing this wonderful video, it was a very pleasant/funny watch, and I can't wait for the next one!
Cheers

I hope there are many more items on that list??

Natural location, wild fish, great company and a perfect result.
As usual beautifully filmed and narrated.
The lost fish in a way added to the magic. What size, type of carp. The what if memory made.
That's what it's all about.
Up goes the bar again.
Well done.
Stay safe and thanks
Well done for putting the time in
