1 Star vs 5 Star Rated Horror Movies

Cheeky Chucky

A 1-star horror movie and a 5-star horror movie can have the same setup.

And no…. it’s not just scary movie and its sequels. It’s more than that.

One uses cheap jumpscares, dumb decisions, and characters who only exist to die. The other builds tension, earns fear, and makes every choice feel like it matters.

So what separates terrible horror from great horror? That's what we're diving in to todayyy

I remember Jason X for two things. One, the lampshade hanging. Two, the fact that it got parodied by a frickin' flash animation about a murderous frosty.

9:48 This is unrelated but don't hate me. The Bambi horror movie wasn't totally bad. The CGI deer looks pretty good alot of the time and the directing was kinda good. I think they just either needed to not take themselves so seriously or fully commit to the bit and make it a 'full on' comedy. They didn't neither and the movie suffered.

I came across your channel for the first time today, and I just want to say that I love the fact that you used the sound of (I assume) you yelling "FUCK!" to censor a specific word.

"The storybook intro deserved a better film" is the best description of Blood and Honey anyone could make. I know most horror movies function on characters making dumb choices, but there was only one brain cell shared between the victims in a world where two is required.

The thing about horror movies is even terrible ones can be great if they are terrible in the right way. As for the best horror movie, I probably gotta go with the 80s The Thing. Absolute lightning in a bottle.

We really over here glazing Midsommer or whatever it's called like the dude in it didn't get drugged, raped, blamed for it, and then horrifically murdered for it which would be one thing if it was presented as a horrible tragedy but it's presented as an empowering/righteous thing. 💀
