This guy should have more recognition for what he does because shadows of war is a awesome and fun game I honestly play it frequently to this day.

I love ratbag and Talion interactions on Mordor and SoW đ always entertaining

In the end if you think about it Ratbag was the only one Talion really had, (he wasnât a dominated orc). While Talion is betrayed by Celebrimbor and Eltariel, Ratbag was still there for him đ˘

Ya, I can confirm as I played both games very recently the feel of them is vastly different.
The captains first off are weaker in SoM and arenât too hard to kill but thatâs cause the strengths/weaknesses tab is smaller and caps at about 10 lines compared to the vastly more complex SoW captains who can go up to 7777 and be just hyper dangerous 1 shot death machines.
The grunts are way stronger in SoM though this is unsurprising, more so due to how the HP system for Talion was done which is not tied to an armor gear item I am sure you noticed but tied to his skills tab where you buy an upgrade to his HP alongside his arrows and one other thing I forgot, due to this the grunts hit surprisingly hard, could also just be they were toned down in SoW to put the focus more on the captains being the threat and danger.
The gear system is the other thing in SoM you have runes which you can etch onto your weapon with a max of 5 for all three weapons, many of these runes are the original effects used as gear bonuses for epic and legendary weapons in SoW, take one of them for example giving you hp back for each critical hit, and another for each counter giving you hp. They were reworked for SoW to be more focused on the gear score and LV compared to the runes you can add to make your builds.
Healing is the last one, you donât get the ability to heal form draining enemies, effectively tell you're a bit further in the game via combat drain, and then There are the herbs around the map which are the different colored odd symbols on your mini map and map when you look at SoM regions. I like the herbs as I find it a safer way to retreat and heal compared to SoW where Iâd have to retreat or force stealth mid combat to heal or charge wrath for a drain execution to heal as holding âEâ hoping it is fast enough before I get hit to heal even with the mind flair skill feels to slow.
The two games are vastly different with some aspects being better and some worst in my opinion, I love the Orcs and Ologs of SoW, But I prefer the rune mechanic of SoM allowing more unique builds though the weapons and armor of SoM do look nice, I just hate rng on the gear for items that fit my playstyle to appear.
Edit: realized I forgot to mention the âIntelâ system, you can have any grunt tell you of a captain or war chief, but you only get their location, you need a Worm to get the strengths and weaknesses or the hints to do dmg for any orc, death threats are also different, you need grunt or captains to threaten cap, you can use a normal grunt or a worm for the death threat, however only captains can be used to death threat a âwarchiefâ which sums up SoM death threat and intel mechanic which in SoW only worms tell locations and weaknesses and are the only ones who can death threat any major Uruk/Olog
Note: On the note of a Death threats unlike SoW in SoM you can have alllll Warchiefs and Captains death threatened at once, doing this only gives a captain or Warchief a gang of 5 or 8 orcs though they are the same class as their leader, if archer, gang is archers. Now a fun fact of this is in this game you can still order captains to go be a bodyguard for a warchief, provided you have 20 captians dominated and 1 warchief you can get a total army count of 126 orcs in one spot. In SoM which was removed for the next game you can also make a âriotâ where you order a warchief to attack another warchief which also brings in their bodyguards for the fight, so you can literally make 1 vs 126 fight which is funny to see.
One last note, Overlord is not a rank in this game sadly.

my favorite type of crazy orc is the one that keeps saying unalive instead of kill

I just discovered your channel a couple of days ago and your videos convinced me to buy shadow of war during the black Friday sale. I'm loving the early game and looking forward to seeing the orcs rise through the ranks
