So in this episode Andy Samberg, a jewish man, finds out he's also part italian. Meanwhile George R.R. Martin, a part Italian, finds out he's actually part Jewish.
The fact that GRRM is a secret bastard and he has been unknowingly writing his own story into Jon Snow is one of the craziest things I think I will ever see.
The picture of Andy's grandparents on a date, blows my mind! What are the chances that this picture existed and that Salvatore kept it. It must have been a fond memory for him.
Of course, Andy Samberg has to find out that he descends from cool, opinionated, free-thinking people. These grandparents so fit his own personality. Andy has his granddad's smile. And Jake Peralta character was developed as half-Italian. Amazing, so glad for Andy and his mother!
When you think about it on how they managed to find not just the mother, but the father that they had absolutely no connection whatsoever besides DNA from Andy's mother, and then we're able to pinpoint how they met and where, it just blows your mind. But the cherry on top is the photo that the family kept with the unknown lady ending up to be Andy's grandmother. Wow. Just...wow. That's a movie right there.
Kudos to the "finding your roots" team, the way they tracked down both of Andy's biological grandparents is simply amazing. Also, finding out that George's granpa wasn't actually his grandpa was quite the plot twist 🤣
