All the weirs built in the 1700-1800 and the pollution that followed from the Industrial Revolution is what stopped sturgeon breeding here

Brillant video. The young lad with the Big Eye must have had the fight and surprise of his life when he caught that.

Wow what a interesting video.  Off to watch the others 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The last fish kinda looks like a barbel with a roach/chub face

One of my local club waters has a black and white tench

Bonito (Sarda Sarda) aren’t members of the Tuna family.  They’re more closely related to Mackerel.
Also, it’s Big Eye Tuna, not “Tunney.”

The seas must have been getting warmer in the 80’s crazy how our weather goes round  in circles mad pure madness

I’m pretty sure we used to catch bullheads in bullwell bogs in Nottingham in the late 80s early 90s

Roach bream hybrids are great sport.

The one just before the last fish u showed looked to have some gudgeon in its DNA

That Pike is CRAZY, it's full on Albino, I'be never heard of that before, surprising it got so big being all white like that, they are an ambush hunter

Pike/eel hybrids are very rare.

That bleak one looks like it could be hybrid with a dace more than roach but still a unusual looking fish, good vid again.

The most strangest captures I've had is a flounder 20 miles up the river Douglas in Wigan (probably not unusual TBF) and I've caught 3 different terrapins from 3 different waters!

I know that 15year old was totally hooked on fishing after that catch, a 66lbs tuna on a rod and reel would be a wicked fight

12:41 did the farmer have grass carp? They can hybridise with big head carp and look a little similar to this, could have perhaps been imported as a juvenile

Wolf fish...
Definitely present off the coast of Northumberland around craster and sea houses ❤ 🎣

Very interesting video Jack 👍

second from last almost looks gudgeony

The one looks like a bit like a marble trout

be glad the yellow bullhead hasn't totally invaded everything over there
